You were in fact correct (http://www.spinemagazine.com/music/january/mobbdeep/putemintheyplace.mp3).
It's not exactly bad, it's just not them. And it's definitely not on par with the Infamous/Hell On Earth/Murda Muzick string of classics.

i don't know shit about Mobb Deep but this shit sucks.
the beat sounds like it should be the intro music for some second rate adult swim cartoon.
and, if G-Unit has a trademark, it's hooks that seem like a team of people took weeks to think them up and they still suck.

So I take it you don't like it.
Regardless of how well or poorly this song is received, it's still probably the best thing to come out of that camp in a minute.

"outta control remix" and "have a party" are awsome
speakin of 50 cent, heard his new diss to game track "not rich, still lyin'" at hiphopgame.com (audio section) and its a good laugh, better than piggybank

I hated their verses on both (espically Prodigy's) but the song entitled "The Infamous" is pretty bangin although I think the beat was on AZ Lp first

You sound like all the 12 years old commenting on the single in the iTunes store. Not suprisingly I might add. Sounds like everything else, what I expected.

Prodigy's fall from the skills he once had are enough alone to make me not listen'...what the fuck happened to his skills

Mobb Deep in G-Unit is like Jerry Rice playing for the Raiders. No reason for it.

Funny man.
Yeah good beats are great, to dance to. I don't judge the quality of music on how much my head is bobbin' . But the funny thing is, is hearing this from a person who is so close minded and hardlining as what Hip-Hop is and isn't. Me hating? Nigga please.

I guess a better way to put it is it's like Joe Montana playing for the Chiefs or Franco Harris playing for the Seahawks. Two great players whom once you hear their names, you'll never think of those two teams.
When I think of Mobb Deep, I'll always think of 'The Infamous'
The Notorious LOL

new exciting news on Mobb Deep:
They were never all that good sans Infamous and half of Hell on Earth and Murda Muzik.
