Its an awesome tune - great video as well. The album homework is one of the best of its kind - its a shame they went a bit cheesy on the next album but the new ones a bit better.

I loved this when it first came out, I was like 'YO WHAT'S THIS!!!!', that was ages ago. I was pretty young then, What year was that?
97?
The album came out in 96, and the single in 95.

Surely not. You're off ignore by the way.
This says otherwise. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000000WCV/102-6467948-2983331?v=glance&n=5174)

the vid kinda freaks me out
why is he a dog?
was he always a dog?
It says 1996 on the back of the album.
I could actually be wrong about the 95. The single was out long before the album, but it might've been the same year.

It says 1996 on the back of the album.
That's fair enough then. It must have been 97 for other parts of the globe.

I liked this song when it first came out, but I don't think I would ever voluntarily pull it off the shelf and actually care to listen to it.
And the video, like a lot of lower budget Spike Jonze videos has limited replay value for me. It was different, especially at the time, but I wouldn't watch it over and over.
Your declaration is indeed false.

The album may have come out in 1996, but the "Da Funk" song was really popular in '97.
And on that note... Daft Punk Is Playing At My House.

Yes he was, as seen in the photo in his wallet. And they hadn't seen each other in a long time, that what caused her confusion at first.

Da Funk was released twice - it was on Soma records out late 95 then Virgin signed them after two singles on soma and they re-released it late 96 and it was a bit hit early 97.

the first time I heard that I was like "jesus, what a retarded lyric"
I was familiarized with Da Funk off of THE SAINT soundtrack...which a lot of people bought, but no one saw the movie.
that was early 1997, I bought "Homework" shortly thereafter.

it's a brilliant song, as is around the world.
da funk is also sampling gold.
my dad bought homework when it came out, i was like...11 or something.
it's a brilliant album.

Cut copy are like daft punk, but probably more instrumental. If you havent heard of them you should check them out. They are really awesome live. And check out The Presets too, particularly their songs "Are you the one?" and "Down, down, down" (y)

da funk song and video are great. i cant really get into homework though, i think it's too repetitive. can someone tell me what i should be thinking so i can thoroughly enjoy it? i feel like i missed something. i like discovery alot. human after all was disappointing. they need a new album. i think a good band would be daft punk making beats and beck and mike d doing lyrics. it might work

she still seemed as though she didn't know him and was just pretending to recognise him.
either that, or she was very uncomfortable about running into him.
