it's tough to write about wanting to be an art teacher without using the word create in it's various forms.
I'm getting there though.
Though I have never had my own classroom, my work with children has usually involved creating and implementing art activities. I believe that lessons should provide a starting point that illicits a creative response. Instruction should help students better acheive their own vision, rather than hinder their creativity.
crap.

Wherever you feel you want to use the word create, just replace it with the word conjure. It will sound way professionaller.

Instruction should help students better acheive their own vision, rather than guide them to fit an ideal.

Put "rather than hinder their development" maybe. And you should correct your spelling for 'achieve'.
how about, rather than hinder their creativity BY guiding them to fit an ideal?
although i'm not sure i like the word "guiding"
or guide, or whatever you said

Mayhaps? Whatever. I hate you too.

Though I have never had my own classroom, my work with children has usually involved planning and implementing art activities. I believe that lessons should provide a starting point that illicits an imaginative response from children; instruction should help students better achieve their own vision, rather than hinder their creativity by guiding them to fit an ideal.

I actually liked what Merv wrote.
Or...
Though I have never had my own classroom, my work with children has usually involved creating and implementing art activities. I believe that lessons should provide a starting point that illicits a creative response. Instruction should help students better acheive their own vision while providing structure and guidance so they won't become all fucked up later in life.
