I dont even know how many remixers there are on this forum, but i bet alot.
So..
Why dont you post your name and a little info if you want to and a link to your best remix so far, so that I (and perhaps others) will know who we really are dealing with here?
Yes?
Good.
And only one favourite remix per dude to keep it clean and neat.

The remix I'm most satisfied with is my The Move remix.
Beastie Boys - The Move (Joakizmoremix) (http://home.no/mornmorn/Beastie_Boys_-_The_Move(Joakizmoremix).mp3)
This is the third and final time I change my favourite remix. I've settled my mind.

Guy Incognito was just a name i used when i logged on here. I didnt think i'd still be posting on here.
I've messed about with makin tunes for a long time. I've messed about with cd decks and akai samplers before and never really got anywhere.
Since getting fruityloops and ACID and joining here - startin to make a few sounds that actually sound like they do in my head!
Done three mixes of b boy stuff as well as some of my own stuff (which is a bit more housey), as well as load of mash ups usin instrumentals and acapellas. I use this board to help get tips and advice and constructive criticism in the hope i will get a lot better
Have started to use the name SITUATION but its only a name. Most people call me Moz.
I will have a web page soon - i have an address of my own which i upload my stuff on to but not sorted out the page yet.
I know Joakizmo said one mix but .. my best remix is probably the situation mix of Open Letter to NYC which is at the bottom of my signature and my best mash up is probably De La v Beastie Boys (http://www.crazyredbananas.com/moz/Rooot Down.wma) which i only did this week.

I run an internet media company - Highpass Music and Media (http://highpass.studioeclection.com) offering free and easy mp3 hosting to remixers here, and a crapload of free music to the world.
I have at least twenty tracks on my page there, but have received the best stats on my remix of We Got The (http://www.highpass.studioeclection.com/music/pls.php?song=90&type=m3u) (hifi stream)
Nygel
02-02-2006, 08:31 PM
My name is nYgel (real name is nigel, stuck a 'y' in there cuz it looked cool) and I live in a small town in central Indiana.
I started mixin in late 03' to little success due to i had no funking idea wat i was doing (i was 13!). Tempos were off big time. I finally got the tempo issues right in my 'first' (in my mind) remix Negotiation Limerick Fyle (http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?PID=401321&T=6639) . I owe alot to Uru-Nitro who helped me start mixing and was a good friend throughout my whole beginning stages. [Thanks Uru] I will be 16 in exactly one month.
I have horrible hosting problems cuz my original host just ran away and I no longer can get in contact with him, powow sucks, acidplanet sucks, soundclick sucks, and this really nice guy hooked me up with my own website but shit.. for some reason i can't get it to work at all!
My most recent venture has been Hello Johnny (http://www.beastieboys.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=62374), I took songs from Johnny Cash and fused them with the instrumentals from Hello Nasty and the breaks used on tour during the HN era.
My favorite track has to be Broken Turntable. I take at least some credit from the releasing of the acapellas recently becuz of this (http://beastieboys.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=49201&page=2&pp=30&highlight=remix). Towards the bottom I think, and to the next page, I forget when I ask him to release them. Yauch said he liked the remix so that meant alot too.

The Mighty Ajax...or Skot1 or Skot Rockit (Many aliases due to the old graffiti writer in me)
I'm the turntablist for Grammy-nominated band Liquid Soul (Acid Jazz band from Chicago) not signed or commited to them, still have my freedom (which has it's pros & cons). I don't do every gig now that I'm a father but I'm always on their records. Just finished the new album and Dj Logic is on it too.
Started rhyming and scratching in '85 and started playing instruments after "CYH" came out. I play all of my stuff now...make them sound like samples from old records. Now I just want to concentrate on remixing...might start rhyming again. New rap is killing me. Some one needs to take a stand.
Love the Beasties, always have. Their management was interested in a rock-rap band I was the frontman for. Didn't pan out, don't know what happened.
I never understood the business side of it but I'm still trying to get a deal or something better than my 9 to 5.
My favorite B-Boy remix I've done is "Negotiation Limerick File" (http://www.skot1.com/limerick.mp3)
but the new stuff is getting better. You decide

Chromium05. Sagittarius. Born in Doncaster, Yorkshire, UK on 17th December 1974.
Got into hip hop around 1980, aged 6 when my step-father bought Rappers Delight. I knew all the lyrics to the 14 minute jam within a week. My dad continued to buy early hip hop ( Bambaataa, Flash / Melle Mel, Coldcrush, Funky 4, etc etc). In 1986 I bought my first album - "Licenced To Ill" by your hosts. Grabbed my attention due to the Run DMC type beats and playful lyrics. At this time, I also got into the whole graffiti scene and rolled with several crews over the next 15 or so years, including FMB - Fuckin' Mad Bastards, KMA - Kiss My Aerosol, UTS - UnTouchableS and BHD - BrotherHooD.
In 1990, I hooked up with a guy called Fez who was working as part of a crew called Tend 2 Offend (T2O) as producer and rapper. It was he that first lent me a crappy Amstrad 4 track (pictured below) and I got the bug for making music.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/chromium05/18_1_b.jpg
In 1994, I hooked up with a then 13 year old Jehst, and along with Lexis, ADee, AM, Taharka, Nmonic and HAL formed a crew called YNR - now considered to be the premier UK hip hop crew with Jehst the UK's number 1 MC.
In 1999 I got my first PC and managed to blag copies of Acid and Soundforge. Things moved quickly after that.
Have worked with quite a few people over the last few years, all in the UK - without naming names.
I use several different names depending on what style and mood takes me.
Came on here after getting a copy of the acapella for "Check It Out" and making a remix using only samples from the Beasties back catalog - which is the track I am posting, just because it was the first thing I ever posted here.
Czech It Out (http://www.chromium05.plus.com/Checkitout-final.mp3)
Every one of the remixers on here would love to get to do something "official" with the B-Boys, myself included, but being a realist - I know it ain't gonna happen. I just hope that people who get to hear what I have done with the Beasties tracks enjoy hearing what I have done with them as much as I enjoy doing the stuff to them. That'll do for me.

DJ John here! (Isn't that original - lol)
I've been around. In fact, some say I'm old. (older than djBC who posted above.) I was 16 when the Beastie Boys released Licensed To Ill. Like a few of us on here, I've had my share of sucess and amateur exposure in the remix biz. My area of expertise are Mash-Ups (Blends) and specifically Mash-Up Medleys (sorta like megamixes). My knowledge of music is broad, fairly deep and reaches back before time began. I was deep in the remix biz back in the late 80's. My remixes today incorporate all genres and typically span multiple decades (classic rock and old school hip hop are my favs to fuse together.)
My website and remixes are HERE (http://www.djjohn.net) at www.djjohn.net

My Name is Roberto, I´m from Stuttgart in Germany and 32 years old.
I run a media company called Ideal-Media and I love to make music since I was 10 years old.
I was a member of different bands in my teenage-time, from Synth-Pop to Hip-Hop.
During my time at university I took my whole time for studying and therefore I had a little break from making music.....since August 2005 I´m producing again and it is so fun. I love to write songs that reach from Pop to Dance, RnB and HipHop.
Actually I publish my tracks with the artist name "Destino"

so its now up to me.
I am no remixer, but I did it. :-) I am a guitarist from germany, and I am a teacher, mostly guitar and maths.
since now there are 36 years gone, when I got my first electric guitar. not exactly in the summer of 69 like Bryan Adams, but in the winter of 69. and now you know, that I am 49 years old. and in my opinion does age not really matter.
my love always was the music, I played blues, rock, hard-rock, a little bit classic and since a couple of years I work on electronic music, from ambient to this here ... remixes.
there is no genre that I cannot find interesting in some oder many aspects.
my work is collected on the website of my netlabel www.whiteaxxxe.de (http://www.whiteaxxxe.de)
where you can get an idea, of waht I am doing the whole day long. :-)
there you can find the BB-remixes too. this were my first remixes, and i finished it with help from a good friend of mine, subspace, who is himself a goa-trancer and in the same age as me but open-minded (like me :-)) enough, to be interested in everything what seems to be a good idea. :-)
wolud like you all to visit my website, and tell me your opinion.
so keep on rapping, rocking, rolling and tumbling or whatever is fun and ends on -ing ... :-))
greetings from germany, WhiteAxxxe

Let me introduce myself. Hi, I'm Tricky Dick. An 18-year old student from Holland. I've been screwin' around with mixin programs for about a year now. Besides mixing, I like to play the drums and I've played in multiple bands. Right now, I'm saving up for an E-drumkit. This will enable me to play the beats myself :) My favourite types of music are metal/rock and hip hop.
The best Mix i've made so far would be Brrr Stick'em - Osdorp Mashup.

Music has been an important part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I've been active musically since I first started taking saxophone lessons in the third grade (circa 1981.) I loved the Beasties when LTI came out, but I grew tired of the album within about a year. Then came along PB...and I've never abandoned the Boys since! I've been remixing the B-Boys for a couple of years now.
Problem: I've typically uploaded my music to ACIDplanet and SoundClick, but there are some serious drawbacks to each. I like the way AP pages and songs are organized, and the fact that high bit rate files are allowed. However, not only does one have to register to download mp3's, but they are not directly linkable: major drawback! SC, on the other hand, only allows 128k mp3's, but you can link to them directly. However, I've realized that they periodically change the link addresses. So, nearly all of the links I've posted on this board are now dead links.
Solution: I now have almost all of my music (original & remixes) hosted on my own domain (http://music.freeman-stat.us). There are over 50 192kbps mp3's posted, and d/l rates range from 400-500KB/s, maybe faster if you use a download manager (depending on your connection, of course.) :D

I also help produce MASH UPS on DC101 .
It's a Mash Up show on DC101 Radio in Washington D.C. every Saturday from 10 til midnight (eastern time). Go to my site (www.solcofn.com) for details.
I also have a release of original music out now on the CORPID label. Corpid is a net label that provides free downloads of unsigned or unknown artists.
One of my originals and a remix or two that are being released on the KUSIC label , will be for sale on www.stompy.com . They should be available in the middle to end of March.

I guess it's about time I fill out one of these things.
Been throwin up trax here for a while hoping people like em.
Age: 11/28/72
born: Montreal
live: Vancouver, BC
History--- Got into hip hop around 85/86 (grade 7) when a friend played me a cassette taped off of WBLS from NY with Doug E Fresh and Slick Rick's The Show/La Di Da Di and loved it. Loved Licensed to Ill and DMC and all that and got my hands on everything I could.
Methodology --- I get creative spurts where I crank out a bunch of remixes in a few week period and then take a break for a few months.. I've got about 45 to 50 on my site Innuendo Industries (http://presner.com/downloads/index.php)
Recommendations-- In terms of my remixes you'll have to explore my site.. I do however recommend a couple of Hold it Now mashes: Hold it Now - Canadian Werewolf Mix (http://presner.com/downloads/details.php?file=51)
and a Cypress Hill style mashup I did for Hold it Now (http://www.presner.com/music/hold it now3-Innuendo remix.mp3)
In the meantime, check my newest mix (http://presner.com/downloads/details.php?file=69)and looking forward to seeing AIFST!
Shout out to all the talented mixers out there, in no particular order: Joak, Team9, DJ BC, Lando, DJBC, ZAP, Chromium, Spacemac, Skrilla, Laurie Hammy, Phos, Incognito. All Y'all need to get signed!

Made a few local electronic cd's and since I've been creating a lot of beat demo's for emcees around town. I absolutley love the Beastie Boys and jumped on the chance to remix a song. Unfortunatley last week, My audio production harddrive died, and I couldn't save everything, including the raw contents to this song. I do have a rough cut of it, but it's not clearly as clean as it could be, and it's still dope.

Hi, I'm pauledwdz - I'm not usually a remixer, but for the Beastie Boys, I'm prepared to make an exception.
I'm fortunate enough to have some friends who are planning to change the face of comedy animation and I've been helping them with some tunes and sound editing etc.
You can find some of our stuff at the official website, BUGGED! (http://www.buggedcartoon.co.uk) or on myspace (http://www.myspace.com/pauledwdz).
Anyway, you'll find my remix here: http://www.e-coustics.co.uk/intergalactic.mp3
I've kept it simple.

Hello all! :)
I'm Jim aka (Archangel), and I'm in London, UK. Been making music for a few years now, but not professionally. I love working with the beasties vox because they are so creative in the rhyme structure. Very clever stuff.
Anyway, I've just finished remixing Ch-check it out, and you can hear it on my myspace. Click the link in my sig to visit. I hope you do because you won't regret it. It's a seriously funky, slap bassed, breakbeat number with some epic sounding keys, and even horns!
I look forward to meeting you lot and getting feedback.

05-22-2006, 03:22 AM
My name is Ben, I'm 25 years old and I have been a Beastie enthusiast maybe forever (wait... I discovered Public Enemy First... :p).
I started to make music with an old 4-track tracker on my Amiga computer around the year 1996. It was the so very naive times of me sampling hardcore techno and gabber tunes to rearrange them. :D Nowadays I use mostly Propellerheads Reason to create what I like to call music, but I plan on switching this summer to Renoise (http://www.renoise.com/), a state-of-the-art modern tracker with VST capabilities.
I also mix drum & bass (65 mb .mp3 mixtape (http://www.logoland.ch/softy/audio/darkedge.mp3)) & techno in a collective.
My current serious occupation is being a student in a multimedia school in switzerland (http://www.emaf.ch). We learn stuff like graphic design, website design, video and all that.
My best remix is The Move (Chill Output Remix) (http://www.logoland.ch/softy/audio/beastie/03_the_move__chil_output_remix.mp3).

Name's John... been into music production since back when the Roland Juno was hawt. 35 years old, graphic designer out of Larchmont, NY (30 minutes to NYC).
Use Logic Pro 7, lotsa plug-ins. I'm a drummer, percussionist and keyboard player. Lived in Africa for 10 years, parents worked for UNICEF... played with a few bands while in Rwanda (before it went to hell... peace to freinds that didn't make it). Learned a lot about syncopation and what makes a groove "groove".
Into D&B, reggae... wish new hip hop would disappear. Took a challenge from a freind, and mimicked a popular rap tune in 3 hours. Where'd the talent and ingenuity go? It's not hip hop anymore... it's hip POP. Meh.
Anyway, been remixing a bunch of the Beastie acapellas, but only got one in MP3 format, which I actually did a few years ago. Bass is a little heavy, but I only have earphones right now, the apartment I own isn't condusive to playing monitor speakers loudly. That's what my car is for... 4 10"s with 1k watts, 300 watts bi-amped to each side up front. makes your arm hair move. Nothin' sounds quite like an 8...0...8.

About abs
A.B.S. is an independent rapper/producer based out of downtown San Francisco, California where he also owns and operates Skullneck Sounds and Video.
Following his "One Breath" (2004) album, his new album "One More Breath" was released on July 10th, 2006 and can be previewed on his official site ABSmusic.net
A.B.S. can be an acronym for many things, but it depends on who you ask. On the album you can listen to Wanda Sykes and Jamie Kennedy who both run with their own translation of the name.
Stand out tracks on the 20 track album include "Myself" where he raps about executing his plan by himself while also giving an insight on who he is, "Face Value" on which he is joined by Adiggz and Gotte (both reppin Buffalo, N.Y.) who turns up on the hook as they join A.B.S. in explaining the value of a dollar, and not to forget the album version of "Young, Fabulous & Broke" which you might have heard a snippet from CNBC's "Suze Orman Show." He also performed the song live on the national prime-time tv show on October 15th, 2003.
Production comes from A.B.S. (8 + drops), Mista Royce (4), Tommy Dubbs (1), Knowledge Illustrious (1), and Kredulous (1)

Sup everybody. I'm Damian AKA Dasubot. I compose/arrange and whatever else I gotta do to make shit happen. I do try to program all my own music (like someone else said... from scratch)
Being 31, I've been a Beastie fan since day one.
Despite my love of Hip Hop culture, I started out playing bass in a punk band at about 15 or so and never stopped, so unlike a lot of clickmaster flexes out there I do play a real instrument. No disrespect of course: I sequence and master on a computer as well. I normally write new melodies on the bass or guitar and then translate them into notes on my sequencer.
That outta suffice. One.

Dj Name: nYgel
real name: nigel (get it?)
Location: Indiana
Age: 16
been mixing since 2004ish, I got into it from hearing the legends of remixing here (funky49, uru-nitro, taco zip). I quickly started talking to Uru-Nitro about how to make remixes and he hooked me up with alot and after a while i slowly began to get good, i had a host at.... codelisten.net, but he sorta dissappeared and that was that.... so for a while i went hostless until Silence7 said i had some great remixes and stuff and i mentioned i have nowhere to host them and then he let me on what is now beastiemixes.com.
I've been away from the beastie boys side of remixing for a half a year or so because i found this indie nerd rapper mc chris and i just sorta started stickin with his stuff cuz hes just that awesome. But now I'm back, i got third in the chicken rooster contest thing on beastiemixes.com and hope to do the same for the next one. so check me out....

Joakizmo has been making beats, instrumentals, remixes and other weird sounds since early 90s. Started out with Amiga 500.
The remixes are for me mostly a way to express my musical feelings. Most of the beats used on remixes are for sale and I make alittlemoney now and then. Right now I don't sell any beats since the beats I produce will be featured on my upcoming mixtape with real life actual exclusive rappers. No remixes or nothing. Well anyway, thats me.

Hi. I live in the northern parts of sweden and have published some music under the pseudonyme Vänliga jättar. I have mostly worked with a japanese singer/MC called Saori and we have aimed to make inovative dancefloor oriented music. But the intrest from radioprograms and labels aimed at such things has been smal(although most festivals aimed at such has been quite intrested). Instead the pop/indy scene became intrested. The paper Sonic published one of our demos and wrote a one pager about us. And the radioshow P3 pop(P3 is the youth oriented radiochannel in sweden) has played our material and listed us as the curently best group for several months in 2004. I have sended out material to several cluboriented labels but to no prevail. I reckon i should send to indylabels instead but i know nothing about that scene so i dont know where to send our material.
Since last summer i have mostly made raggajungle, dancehall and raggacore. A more experimental raggacore mix on hey you fuck off will be put online later but for now i put up this more laid back hiphopremix of Time to give which will be up for something like 4 days. So download it while you have the chance. :D

My name is Pat aka Lazer Robot. My real passion is as an MC but I rarely get into a studio. Sometimes I do though, on rare occasions. I have literally stacks of rhymes written. I have the ability to pick up a pen and just start writing and writing and not stop for some reason, but I never seem to nurture that talent. My passion in life is skateboarding and everything that has to do with skating. Skateboard filming and photography is my career as well but maybe someday I will focus on music.
I am a beastie freak and have been since day one. I was born in New York and I live in LA.

Hola! I'm Hector Feelgood, born in 1971, I live in Vestby, Norway (a little south of Oslo). I'm married and have a daughter (7 years old). Been a Beastie Boy fan since day one (Licence To Ill), and I saw them live, twice, in 1999. At the Roskilde Festival and in Oslo Spektrum.
I don't have much equipment, just a PC and a mic. I use the programme Sonar to make my beats.

Hey, what's up! My name is mc JymE from PWN productions. Also born in 1971 in Groningen, the Netherlands. Now living in Assen with my wife and our daughter of 5 and son of 1 year old. I am a huge Bestie Boys fan since like 1986 when i heard "She's On It!" for the first time. I tought; "These guys ROCK!" Since that point me and my friend mc JonE where making raps and rhymes over mixes we mad by pasting different pieces of music on a... tapedeck:eek: Time changed and now i'm making Beastiemixes with the help of my PC, Yamaha keyboard and different kinds of software to make beats and all... I have seen the Beastie Boys live 3 times. First time was in 1994 Paradiso, Amsterdam. Shit, the roof went off! Small theater, max rapability :D Second time was in 1997 Rotterdam Ahoy. Shitty sound, not aloud to stagedive, but a good support act though from "Osdorpposse (http://www.osdorpposse.nl)". Third concert was the Beastie Boys Paegant tour in Amsterdam, Heineken Musichall in 2004. Damn, what a show!!! Never gonna forget this one (y) :D Well enough said, go listen to my mixes on Beastiemixes.com, selct PWN productions in the dj section and there you have it. enjoy!

'tis is d fast (Harry Damm), a finnish music junkie. I collect vinyls and nes/snes games + I try to make music on the side. I recently opened up my website and right now I'm working on my first official cd release, and hopely it'll be released as vinyl some day in the distant future.
been doing music actively since 1995 or something and started really doing my own stuff during 1999 with venomous tracker softwares. right now I make music with renoise (http://www.renoise.com) and on the side I use cubase/nuendo for more serious mixing, audio editing and basic recording.
I love funk music and anything that has a good groove to it, but I tend to listen to all sort of stuff from funk to hip-hop, downtempo, metal, drum&bass, country and basicly anything - as long as the music is good (gah, what a cliché.)
I got introduced to Beastie Boys just a few years back. of course I had heard all the hit songs playing on radio and tv, but I never really got hooked to their stuff. but now I own all their albums and I listen to them every now and then.
about my favourite beastie boys remix then... haven't really managed to listen to enough of those in order to name a favourite among them.
well... I guess that's quite about it!
my name is Paul Bernard. i represent bergen, norway, europe.
been into the beasties since way back. I'm not a remixer, but I make music for myself and others in a lot of different genres. please check my website if ya want to know more about me!

i've only done one beastie remix. you'll find it RIGHT HERE (http://www.beastieboys.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=78046)

My name's Jai and I live in Amsterdam. Unlike most people here, my background isn't in DJing/remixing perse but in home recording. I started recording stuff on my mom's walkman when I was about 5. Eventually I picked up a guitar and pretty much taught myself how to play, but I would always be recording my endeavors at the same time. In my later teens I discovered music in a major way, and found myself gravitating espescially towards groups with intense and wholly original sounds: the Beasties obviously, but I was really way into everything from Public Enemy to Sonic Youth to early acid house to Lo Fi. Around the time CDR's came out, me and my friend were like "cool, now we can make our own CD" and we did, on a humble Tascam 4-track. Nowadays, I record using Sony Acid. I don't think I really have a method, other than first laying down the basic guitar and vocal tracks, and then just mangling the hell out of the sound, adding extra instruments and effects until I like it. I made an early Sonic Youth/NY hardcore inspired "remix" of 3 the hard way which can be found here:

hey, i´m 28 years old male from west germany located at kreuztal kredenbach, 100km near cologne and dortmund. it´s rather chilli out here. i started as a music lover, came to deejaying, over turntablism up to producing for, up to now 10 years. deejaying: i fucking quit, i dont know why but i sold nearly everything i had: my turntables my mixer my records (dam it was a fine collection)and my music production equipment. it seemed, i had been in a very bad mood for a longer time, so i did this mistake. fuck it!:o right now im producing my first class joints:D with fruity loops, the few mixing parts i do with samplitude (great program). i think i produce 1 or 2 beats a month. thats it.
today i blended and remixed the beastie boys track electrify with a beat i made a few month ago. it´s very short, i would like to say too short, but like it is here in kredenbach, chilli i guess. enough said...here it is:

I am known as paraflux, or just flux, in Houston. I was in a band for 6 years, then left it as no one could give me straight answers about anything at all. I do studio production and mixing now, mostly, although it's possible that I will join this new band called Interbreed, on bass. I pack a Warwick Corvette 5-string. Here's my one remix...

My name is Alex and I'm from Vancouver, BC. I've been messing around with Reason 3.0 and love getting big beats pumping. My buddy Dan just came to town and we spent the day recording a tribute song to the old school Beastie Boys. It is raw and the lyrics are obscene but I personally can't stop listening to it. I took the second verse from the Beastie track called TIME and remixed it with Adobe Audition and inserted it as our final verse on this track. Props to the b-boys for releasing their vocals so we can all have so much fun with it!
The song starts playing automatically when you visit this link:

But I started with producing. Making beats is kind of a hobby for me. I like to drop different styles. It helps me to understand all the different styles of music. Music is passion for me. It surrounds me!

Hi - I may not be quite the newest but I am probably the oldest at 48.
Musically I am a drummer and have been playing for five years. I am in two band one of which is here www.myspace.com/evolutiontoevolution (http://www.myspace.com/evolutiontoevolution) and is just a covers band really.
The other one also does covers but far more interesting ones - Beyonce, Deee Lite, Britney, Motown, Destiny's Child, some James Bond and we try and get samples (played live) in (eg Apache in Toxic and Billie Jean in Bootylicious) all the songs we do.
It all started with The Roots who turned me into a hip hop head and a growing love for beat makers and producers. My faves are J Dilla, DJ Premier, Just Blaze, Timbaland, Pete Rock and The Ummah (ATCQ).
In amongst all that, I discovered Paul's Boutique and loved it. Its up there with Pet Sounds et al. The whole art of sampling just fascinates me.
I wanted to have a go and got myself an MPC 500 back in Nov 2007 and recently upgraded to an MPC 2500 cos I was having so much fun.
Software wise I have been using Garageband which is dead easy to use but I have just (this weekend) started on Ableton Live.
No keyboards (although I have one) but occasionally I will play live drums on some of my tracks to adds a human feel.
It a tough learning experience and I am grateful to all you who have given feedback and stuff.
Hey, but I am having fun, so much fun so check out some of my stuff - link just down to the right
Cheers

Let me introduce myself. Hi, I'm Tricky Dick. An 18-year old student from Holland. I've been screwin' around with mixin programs for about a year now. Besides mixing, I like to play the drums and I've played in multiple bands. Right now, I'm saving up for an E-drumkit. This will enable me to play the beats myself :) My favourite types of music are metal/rock and hip hop.
The best Mix i've made so far would be Brrr Stick'em - Osdorp Mashup.
Check it out at http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?songs=475404&T=8662
and let me know what you guys think about it.

Ive been remixing some beastie tracks for a couple of months. I have been djing for about 4 years. I go under the name centlord but my real name is Vincent. Im from Whittier Ca in LA. I respect all of you guys who are putting shit out there for everyone to hear! Check my page out at http://www.soundclick.com/centek Respect to Joakizmo for running this post!
haha! love the alive "back that mash up" track. the heart shaped sure shot reminded me of rocking metroid NES game, kind of nostalgic. pack the pipe works well, nice interlude, enjoyed. dig the downtempo of stay gifted...sounds like a pharcyde track. your other shit was also tight. i really dig what you are doing going to pass along your link to some friends i think would enjoy. might get some radio time in chitown on wdcb, would fit right into the curriculum

Hey, Laurie from 87th Precinct here. I've loved the Beasties since 1987, when I was arrested in London for wearing a VW sign. Seen them play many times.
My remix is here:

Greetings all. I’ve been a Beastie Boy fan ever since stealing my sisters cassette tape of Licence to ill. That’s right I said cassette tape, for all of you that don’t know, there was music before CD’s. As many of you do I own every studio album the Bboys have released. I also pride myself in hunting for all bboy remixes (Get it together - Buck wild remix, so whatcha want - soul assassins mix, intergalactic - Fuzzy logic and prisoner of technology remixes, Sure shot - Nardone, Large professor, and European b-boys remixes and remixed albums (New York State of Mind - Dj Green Lantern . Double Check your Head - Max Tannone, Still Ill - Dr. Numbers, even the hip hop sampler promotional disk. The list goes on and on. I have more remixed Beastie boy songs that album versions I’ll put it like that. I have found 41 remixed Beastie Boy songs on three full albums. Dj Cassidy has put out a series of albums titled The Beastie Projects. The Beastie Projects have quickly moved there way to the top of my Beastie playlist, and far surpassed even the remixes released by the Beastie Boys themselves. In a time when I should have a new Beastie Boy album in my hands, these tracks have quenched my Beastie thirst. Here are links to some simple videos on youtube if you don’t believe me. Just remember it’s not the video that matters it’s the bangers underneath. So here are 5 of the 41 Beastie Project tracks and 1 unreleased Dj Cassidy remix. And stay tuned, more to follow.

Hi,
I was at my brothers house at the weekend and his nickname as a kid was 'egg' so I challenged him to remix 'Egg Man' and after a couple of hours he came up with this:
It needs a proper mix down apparently but I love it:
