Wow, a ton of these films just showed at Sundance.

There's a movie with Bob Odenkirk and David Cross there.

I have to go.

Spring break just happens to fall on the same week!

what we need to work on here is getting tickets...
alot of people are willing to travel to see the band, or a screening, for that matter, as long as we know we can get into the event...

anyone in Austin know of similar deals where locals get access to tickets before general public?? I will call my brother and see what he finds out...

meanwhile, there is no schedule yet, but I wouldnt be surprised if they screened the film on Friday the 10th or Saturday the 11th...

and Laver found a link saying MMM is playing, so another surprise concert is not out of the question either!

I'm currently working on finding out the scoop on getting tickets. From my understanding, it is done on a wristband basis. Vip's get in first, and special admissions second then wristbands or something like that. This might just be for the concerts. As soon as I find out more info, I will give you guys the scoop.

I'm trying to convince my best friend to road trip it out there with me, but to see the films you have to buy a package thing I guess, and it would be over 200 bucks....wish they just had individual tickets.

my brother has volunteered at sxsw for the past 4 years so i asked him about it and this is what he said:

It is not possible to purchase tickets ahead of time

For both movie and music events, there is a hierarchy in which people are allowed in

for movies it is badge holders > film pass > general admissions

for music it is badge holders > wrist bands > general admissions

Depending on the popularity of the movie and the venue it is showing in, general admissions rarely ever gets in

usually film passes have a good chance of getting in to most movies, and those have costed $50 in previous years

General admissions to music also depends on popularity and venue; the only way to get in is to wait outside until all badges and wrist bands go in, and then they will decide if there is room for general admission

if you get a wrist band for a musical event, they vary in price depending on when you purchase it, but usually $120 or more

To get a wrist band, keep checking the website to see when they go on sale and follow instructions there

wrist bands always sell out and this year is the 20th anniversary of the music fest, so that will make it go all the more faster

The next question is what night or day will the movie play. I would like to know something in advance so I can ask for time off in advance.

so who's planning on going?

I think a film badge for a day costs around fifty ducks...

I need a vacation from my vacation, a trip to Austin is right up my alley...
a friend says its easier than you might think to get into an individual screening...

Does anyone know time/date of the screening? Maybe someone from the "Camp" can throw in some insight about a possible performance. I think it could be a possibility since MMM will be in the area already.

this was from an email from a SXSW rep...

Individual tickets will be harder to purchase for the smaller venues,
a $65 film pass will guarantee that you do not have to pay a fee to
se films and give you entry after badges. They can be bought in
Austin at Waterloo Video. Schedule will be announced on Wednesday.

so my brother, who is volunteering at sxsw, just came back from a sxsw crew chief meeting and one of the things mentioned was the popularity of the beastie boys interview. he thinks that it's going to be in a panel area which means you won't be able to get in with a film pass. but you could prob get in with a film badge which are $300 and $225 for students. he says that's where they have most of the interviews and they are not open to general admissions. but this is all speculation....and i just thought yall should know what is being speculated
