Steelers winning was a good Super Bowl, been waiting for them to win one for over a decade, but it wasnt that great of a game, and the commercials were decent
The Stones sucked, but that Diet Pepsi commerical was pretty cool.
"Brown and bubbly! get some! get some!"

The Rolling Stones. I wouldn't have wanted a wardrobe malfunction during this particular halftime show.
Motown Music. The pre-game show was much better than the half-time show. I loved the dancing.
The game. I don't know if the Steelers were off and the Seahawks were maybe on, but Pittsburgh looked weak. Seemed like it was a win by chance.
Commercials: FedEx/neanderthal. Magic fridge. Budweiser/Clydesdales.

fuck em.
it's so frustrating when the team that makes it to the SB, does NOT represent the best in the conferance.
both teams looked like 9-7, mediocre clubs....it was the battle of who could play slightly better than the other...and not screw up as much.

But I won 360...um... "points" in my office pool, so it was a great game to me.

Honest to God, I did not know that after the pregame Motown Shindig, Stevie Wonder was also going to be officiating the game...that part really did take me by surprise.
It was incredibly boring, I have to agree with zorra_chiflada if I lived in any other country I would be saying the same thing, this superbowl talk makes me want to be in america for about a one second and my hometown team was playing!?!?!

In the UK, we got the shitty 'international anouncers' commentary. They kept explaining all the basics like what holding is and so on without doing any in depth analysis. One of them also clearly didnt know the rules to which was funny.
It was fairly disapointing - I took a day off work to watch it - oh well

Ben had a QB rating of like 33.3...
what a fuck up.
he had to be "consoled" in the locker room for playing so shitty, and relying on the seahawks own ineptitude and the ref's calls to win the game...
how the fuck do you call that call against the seahawks "offensive pass interferance? -4 points
and that holding call that cancelled a 30 yard gain to the 1 yard line? that was no hold! -7 points
how in the fuck did stumbling bumbling Ben get that huge pass off to heinz? how in the fuck was hienz open for such a gain? +7 points for steelers.
how in the fuck do you call that Ben scramble a TD? Stevie wonder could have seen that ball NOT break the plain. +4 points for the steelers
how in the fuck can Jeremy stevens drop 3 wide open passes for huge, drive saving gains? +who-knows how many points for the hawks.
any Steelers fan that is proud of thier team for that game is a fuckin brainless lemming. they played like the SB Bills of the early 90's....but luckily, the seahawks played worse.

ya NFL refs need to take a page from teh NHL's book and let the boys play in the playoffs...don't call the shit that isn't flagrant.
but ya, jackson should know where he is on the field before he catches the ball...there's another +14 for the hawks.
the hawks got robbed a few times, but also didn't step up and make their plays.
On a good note, Sean was getting some tough yards up the gut which was nice to see...he's not pussy.
its a sad day around these parts.

That offensive pass interference call - I am no expert on US football but the receiver clearly did create separation - so why all the fuss?
The cornerback dude is clearly rocked back on his heels by the push and has his momentum sent away from the location of the eventual pass. So how come everyone seems to think it should not have been a TD?

he didn't rock shit....the corner back didn't get pushed off, he just got juked....
that was incedental hand contact, NOT a push.

Next time you look at the replay look at the corners feet.
The hand comes in from the receiver and he takes a half step back.
It may be the case that that kind of thing happens all the time in the NFL and refs allow it - I dont know as I dont watch it. maybe it wouldnt have made a difference ultimately but the push is pretty clear I think.
I dont know what juked means :o

shit, the Titans got to the superbowl in 99' and LOST...and still played better than yours.
so, how long did Ben cry in the locker room after the game? i heard it was for like...an hour..is he gonna be okay? i mean, he did have one of the LOWEST QB ratings EVER (for as long as they've been keeping track)...and had generally one of the poorest outings recorded.

That was a shitty game, but you have to give Pittsburgh it's props. Beating the Colts, Bengals, and Denver all on the road was impressive. I'm surprised Aretha Franklin let the Stones use her giant tongue sun dress to cover the fans during their set.

I think the game was best summed up by that "gadget" play.
Everyone knew it was coming, something, sometime...i'm sure they prepared for it for 2 weeks, BUT...they couldn't stop it, and that is why Seattle deserved to loose.
At least Joey J had some nice grabs...he was sprung a few times and Matt couldn't get the ball to him. I wear his jersey with pride.
At least the NFL has a good story line for future pre game shows...the SuperBowl XL the Bus Stops here.

The refs had too much impact on the game for my taste. The Offensive PI, the hold that wasn't, the "I crossed the end zone with my beard", the low block on a tackle? WTF?
I'd be sad if I were a Steeler's fan because the refs cast doubt on the integrity of the SuperBowl. Maybe that <300 miles meant more grease in the palms? Of course, as a Niner fan I'm even more sad about my team's performance.
Still, it'll go down in history as 2005 Champion Pittsburgh Steelers. So congrats for that.
And, Rothleswhatshisname saved ANOTHER TD on a pick. He might want go both ways and play safety next year, as well.
Isn't it just like Q to barrage us with others' opinions to bolster his ignorance?

Jesus Christ....I just came on hear after celebrating for the last two days to this shit. (ive been a steeler fan all my life my family is from pittsburgh)
I swear I officially have no respect what so ever for the city of seattle, there fans, coach, and team...they have absolutly no class what soever...stop fucking whining YOU LOST...Seattle had absolutly no BIG plays, and couldnt hold themselves togeter. They had plenty of chances to do good but blew it...
Look in case you have never watched a steeler game before...they play real old school football...and guess what, it works. When the steelers needed a big play they got it....
Ok and as for you bashing big ben on the grounds of a qb rating....shut the hell up....He made the plays with his feet and when he did need a big play with his arm he dilivered (example.. 3rd and 28 or whatever).
and as for all the whining over the refs....Umm mabey I should whine. Ben got blocked in the back, Stevens funbled the ball, and kemo was held a hand full of times, and Troy was picked and held in the endzone for SEA. only td....as for the pass interference IT WAS, you CANNOT put your arms on the defender like that...ITs the rule...whine to the NFL.
GOOD TEAMS OVERCOME BAD CALLS......example pit. vs. ind.
this was the most viewed superbowl in over 10 years...the steelers have the biggest and most devoted fan base in the NFL......40,000 fans in the victory parade today in freezing temperatures with snow....SEA. only had like 2,000 fans at its whining party.....Look I hate people who glote or who whine....10 years from now this will be a win for pit and a loss for seatle.. the steelers WON the super bowl and theres nothing in the world that could make me happier....So just SHUT the fuck up and get your facts strait, you sound like a fucking first grader buddy.....OK case closed PITTSBURG 5 Seattle 0.. look this guy does a good job at clearing things up http://discuss.pittsburghlive.com/viewtopic.php?t=76773

you're an idiot.
The city showed up to cheer on their team yesterday at Quest field. The city is soooo happy they made it there, the Seahawks were a HUGE success this year. No one is bitter, everyone knows the hawks didn't play well, Stevens publically stated he played poorly. Holmgren did complain, for the second time this year., about the refs, but did it in a calming way in front of his hometown fans..that's all I've heard about whinning...that event was a celebration pure and simple
If this logic is correct you should hate the staff of ESPN cold pizza, and most of the sports writters out there who say not only were the ref's terrible in the super bowl, but also teh whole playoffs, even into last year during that field goal debacle. The debate is with part time refs who are whistle happy and make wrong calls.
No one is attacking the Steelers here, unlike the Steelers who said publically only 2 weeks ago that there was a consipracy against their team by the NFL after the Indy game.

Yes I saw the people in the stands... For those people I respect but everybody else that is whinning is who Im talking about. I have no problem with REAL seattle fans, they had a great season. But IM just talking about all the impartial people who have nothing better to do than complain about poor officiating.. officiating was bad this year, but its always bad. none of the calls cost any of the games for any of the teams in the playoffs this year including the superbowl. Yes cold pizza is for some reason hating on the steelers allot lately.. But again Im not gloating or trying to put down seattle..Im just saying let it go..give us some credit. and as for full time officials...I dont agree with it compleatly. I think they should be full time during the season. but afterwords they need another job, the season is way to short for that....
once again sorry if I sound like an asshole... :D
