I am bitter and twisted and cynical too. Fortunately, if you hang around lots of couples, sometimes you get to see it get shitty and their utter misery.

Depends on the couple. Once me and my mates were in the nightclub, and some chick with a short skirt on was getting finger-banged through her panties right infront of us. We had a great view.
That was awesome.
i 'unno. whenever im around my bestfriend and her boyfriend and they hug, i see everyone else who's single go totaly quiet just staring at them and i roll my eyes and pretend i don't notice. so i guess it makes others uncomfortable too.

nah, i mean the real lovey dovey nonsense. my mate and his girl are serial offenders when theyre out with us and when one of them is leaving you'd swear they were being shipped off to vietnam for 5 years.
so we call them homo's in return.

Not to toot my own horn, but my wife and I always prided ourselves in being the "couple that didn't act like a couple" in our circle of friends.

I need to be 21 and in in the UK , now.
What would piss me off at work were the losers bringing their slutty half decent girlfriends and making out in the CD/DVD aisles. I'd be a different story if she was getting finger banged though...

Can get into nightclubs legally at 18 here. And illegally 15-16 getting in is not uncommon.

Awwwww. Maybe they just don't feel comfortable approaching you for a threesome, and so are trying to work out a subtle way of bringing it up, that doesn't risk alienating you.

Find a crappy boyfriend and your friends' coupleness will seem less repulsive.

I can't stand being around Boom'n and Cosmo but it has nothing to do with the fact that they are a couple.

Oh?
Buh, nothing wrong with those feelings.. It's all about controlling them, or putting them in a different perspective. Or booze. Ace might be onto something.

A couple from a school down the road consort to our school for two days of the week. They don't mix with anybody, they just snog the the face off eachother, constantly in the common room. I mean, get a room guys.

I don't really pay attention to it, but I do get kinda jealous when it's a dude I have a crush on. :(

Heh, I think it's a bit selfish... seriously you can eat each others faces at home, or in the car. Social time, is SOCIAL TIME, fuckers. Seriously you don't go into public to make out, same as you don't go to a party to sleep.

Well, if they're the ; "oh no, YOU'RE a cutesy poo"..."no, no YOU'RE to cutsy poo!" sort of couple, it would make me wretch more than anything.
To answer your question directly, no I haven't had those feelings. If I find myself single, I just try to get all the work done I couldn't do otherwise if I was in a relationship.

It doesn't matter anymore, it's been around two years now, they'll always be Get A room Couple, we'd probably feel more awkward if they had a blazing row instead. Randy sods.

I have to say, in general, I have always been the one to have a boy when my other friends are single (I don't know why, that's just always how it goes). I try not to be too lovey, because I've been in that position and it does make me lonely n shit, but fuck, I wanna be able to kiss my dude! I'm not gonna make out or something, but a peck here and there.

Pecking is fine ,face eating is what I find annoying. It's not so much the fact that you are doing it, it's the fact that you think you should be excluded from the group when you willingly came to be part of the group socialization.

What, like I was gonna storm out of the nightclub just because some chick is soaking her panties in front of me?
And besides, I would've joined in if she asked nicely.

I hate couples because I am a friendly person and one or the other of them tends to try and open up to me about the relationship and then the other gets all jealous that the other one's flapping and before you know it me listening to someone's problems gets me all in trouble and labeled a nosey person...people are awsome.

oh, I absolutely hate couples!!
hell yeah I'm a jealous and envious bitch!!
but then I play that song "The Glamorous Life" by Sheila E., it really reflects how I feel: :D
She wears a long fur coat of mink
Even in the summertime
Everybody knows from the coy little wink
The girl's got a lot on her mind
She's got big thoughts, big dreams
And a big brown Mercedes sedan
What I think this girl, she really wants
Is 2 be in love with a man
She wants 2 lead the glamorous life
She don't need a man's touch
She wants 2 lead the glamorous life
Without love, it ain't much
She saw him standing in the section marked
"If U have 2 ask, U can't afford it" lingerie
She threw him bread and said "Make me scream"
In the dark, what could he say
Boys with small talk and small minds
Really don't impress me in bed
She said I need a man's man baby, diamonds and furs
Love would only conquer my head
She wants 2 lead the glamorous life
She don't need a man's touch
She wants 2 lead the glamorous life
Without love, it ain't much
They made haste in the brown sedan
They drove 2 55 Secret Street
They made love and by the 7th wave
She knew she had a problem
She thought real love is real scary
Money only pays the rent
Love is 4 ever and that's all your life
Love is heaven sent - it's glamorous
Lead the glamorous life
She don't need a man's touch
She's want 2 lead the glamorous life
Without love, it ain't much

i find the pecking more annoying. if a couple start making out i can then just turn my head and look else where...but the pecks are out of nowhere...sometimes whilst someone else is speaking....and i dont have time to avert my gaze....

Perhaps couples feel jealous when they are around you - maybe their relationships aren't what they could be and they wish they could be on their own again - free to live their own lives the way they want to.
There's a lot that's good about being single. Enjoy it.
