Exactly, that would be my guess too. Real Estate is expensive, especially in NY. Not too many people have the money to just buy property outright. Especially since the Beasties had to sell off Grand Royal & G Son studio, and not to mention that the majority of the XLarge stores closed down. Yauch probably just got a mortgage like everyone else does.
