Duh, we are in the same time zone. If u werent watching it then u missed it. Have fun going through 3 hours of tape for 5 minutes of good performance.

I am glad green day won, kanye won once, but lost for album of the year to U2 which is typical.

Paul McCartney doing Helter Skelter live. (y) It sounded good.

the highlights were definitly LP/JZ/Paul McCartney. awesome shit there.

Kanye West's performance woulda been awesome if he wasnt wearing that stupid ugly ass uniform.

U2 were awesome, until that bitch start singing...ruined the whole damn thing.

Madonna....decent

Kelly Clarkson....pretty amazing voice, dress made her look pregnant.

Helter Skeltor live was awesome!

Alicia Keys and Stevie Wonder singing Higher Ground was very awesome. I only knew the song from RHCP version, didnt know it was a cover.

Madonna wore a feathered/pre-Farrah hairstyle that took me back to 1976. I thought her performance was mediocre.

Kelly Clarkson acted particularly foolishly last night.

Alicia Keys and Stevie Wonder singing Higher Ground was very awesome. I only knew the song from RHCP version, didnt know it was a cover.I know the song--wow. But that version fell flat for me. Maybe it's because it was forced, the audience wasn't into it, and it ended abruptly. It felt like an afterthought, like it was filler.

God, but Keith Urban looks and acts exactly like a guy I know.

Yeah, he walked off the stage sort of abruptly. What are you gonna do. I went to bed after the Helter Skelter performance (which I thought rocked) and recorded the rest (and the beasties on letterman).

My big question about hte Grammys is... What's the difference betweeen 'Record Of The Year' and 'Song of the Year'?

I haven't actually watched any music awards shows in literally years, because they tend to be garbage, but I did end up seeing most of it. I thought Helter Skelter was sort of a bad choice for Macca. The backing vocals sounded like a barbershop quartet and he was struggling to hit half of the notes. He shoulda probably just performed some of his post-Beatles material. The Jay-Z/Lincoln Park thing was okay, I guess. Kanye's performance was okay, despite the annoying theme. John Legend's acceptance speech where he kept talking about how his single was "unlike anything ever done before" kinda made amused me. I liked how De La Soul were the first non-animated performers of the night. Madonna looked better on the screen than she did on the stage, though. The tributes were for the most part lame. Mary J Blige still has one of the most irritating singing voices in the world to me. Kelly Clarkson needed to get a grip. I'm surprised Fionna Apple was there. I couldn't tell if LL Cool J's outfit was more Inspector Gadget or Safari inspired. Was Common sitting in the front row? I can't remember. But that's kinda crazy if he was because even U2 was in the second row. Album of the year for How To Dismantle An Entire Career? I think not. But then, I didn't agree with 90% of the nominations to begin with.

I think one is, like, "Which is the best all 'round single (songwriting, performance, production)" and one is more like "which is the best-written song." I think.

I think I was in class when they were on. I probably wouldn't have watched anyway, except for the Gorillaz/De La Soul thing.

What's so confusing? The theme for Kanye's performance was college marching bands and fraternities. That seemed pretty self explanatory to me given the fact that college been the theme for his entire career as a performer.

I was wondering the same thing.

Fuck the Grammys. I shouldn't have been duped by Common's multiple nominations. I should have known where the night was going as soon as they let Madonna's terrible ass roll around for 5 minutes. I wish someone would tell her she hasn't been relevant in a decade so she would go away.

I only watched until Kanye won rap album of the year. He is such a complete stroke. Common has more talent in his beard than Kanye could ever hope to have.

I hope I don't have this turned around, but I think Record of the Year is given to the person who performs the song and Song of the Year is given to person who writes the song.

And Mariah Carey, yes, what did she do to herself?

I didn't recognize Faith Hill or Jenna Elfman.
