In my city, all streets going east to west get named after a tree, and all streets going north to south get a number. I live on Orange off 11th.

I live on a street named after a tree!

the most confusing street name is North Ave around here. yeah yeah, go west on North until you hit Milwaukee. MILWAUKEE THE ROAD! NOT THE CITY!

milwaukee runs diagonally. MORE CONFUSION!

also there's the street Goethe. which I suppose is a famous person, but I thought it sounded like "goath", but it's "gertah". german jerks.

Lots of times, the landowner/developer who subdivided the land gets to name the road.

You know what I really hate? 1/2 streets.

I was recently working with a developer who subdivided a huge tract of land. He named almost all of the streets after himself in some form or another. I made fun of him.

That reminds me that we have one newer suburb that bugs the shit out of me. The streets in each neighborhood all start with the same letter of the alphabet. If guess if all the homes are going to look alike (except for the wide variety of color choice going all the way from buff to beige) then the streets might as well have strikingly similar names.

In another suburb, all the streets have very English-sounding names. That's also hilarious to me because the matching mac-mansions are so tacky and in no way resemble a proper English neighborhood.

I live on Tuesday Street.
This area is called the weekday-area, but Thursday's missing. They lengthened Monday street a few years ago when they built some new houses there, and then renamed the street from my corner forward to the new houses to Holyday street and I was like WTF?
