POGS were the shit man, they were just fun!
I (still) have a pink cylinder pog case, with belt clip.
I found my pog maker today, and it's sitting on the dest next to me.

the only things I know of as "pogs" were the cardboard round things that took place of coins while I was on deployment.
They used those things rather than coins because coins weighted down the planes and the cost of fuel was higher because of the shipment with more weight.
They would come in 5 cents all the way up to 25 cents, other than that, I don't know what you are talking about.

the neighbor kids that I used to babysit in high school used to have OJ Simpson Trial pogs. I was like, "why do you have these?!" and they were like, "BECAUSE THEY RULE!"
and then we pretended to be power rangers.

Does anyone remember the pog witht that little pogman bloke on it bouncing a football (as in soccer for you yanks) off his ass? With the amazing caption 'BUMBOUNCE POWER!'. It was my favourite one ever, apart from maybe those fat thick plastic ones you get. I had this badass purple shiny one. Anyway, anyone remember the bumbounce power one?
Edit: yes i remember tazos, and the coolio folder you used to get. They were bitchin to the max.

tazos were wicked you could build stuff outta them or flick them at your mates. Oasis are still good, saw them in December in Cardiff. Off the bannister I tell thee! I still love dime bars like a chocolatey brother. People laugh at the pudding bowl haircut nowadays but it was the shit back in the day. If you didn't sport the bowl then you must have been into warhammer, or the latest thing - the internet!

I used to build Tazo shapes as well. I was 10 in 1995. Having black hair (thats me) never worked with the pudding bowl- I've always had me hair short. Dime Bars are a rip off these days.

Ah, bless, thats so sweet. Its not a proper pudding bowl cos it doesn't cut off, if you see what I mean. What footy shirt is that incidentally? I wanna go back to 1995 and watch Mighty Max. Lets build a time machine.

when you mean cut off do you mean a kind of step? The shirt is of the mighty Old Coulsdon Jets (Surrey champions 1995/96 and 1996/97). We ruled the tandridge league! Showed some kids i know from my old school a pic of me from back in the day when i was sporting the bowl and they couldn't stop laughing :( I tried to explain it was all the rage back then but to no avail
95 was a good year. Can't believe it was over 10 years ago

Its hard to explain- on my school photo all the blonde kids with PB hairrcuts it does sorta have a step- its looks literally like their mam cut from the edge of the bowl to their head. Tell your friends to go fuck themselves- its a nice reflection of a bygone age of Panini Stickers and penny sweets.

don't get me started on footie stickers (although i used to collect merlin).
had so many at one point i did a school-wide scrambles - something i'd later regret as every kid in school would ask me when my next scrambles was lol. Shineys were the ultimate bargaining tool and if you had no.1 shiney then people would kiss your feet just to catch a glimpse. The smell of a freshly opened packet was awesome too! I almost completed 1996-97 but I only got a quid a week pocket money so i was always behind the rich kids.
Good times!

I was into Pogs when I was 8-years-old back in '95. I had the regular pogs, the ones that had the Pog mascot on them (the cartoon character that looked like Captain Caveman). I played with them for about 3 weeks back in September 1995, and then never played with them again. Probably the shortes time I've ever been into a childhood fad.

freshmen year of college, each group had to make a website based on a made up company. well my company sold alf memorabilia.
one of the thigns we had to have on the site was a form for something that actually worked.
so i made a contest and the winner would win 50 alf pogs. and i got about 5 or 6 people who submitted actual entries. the strange thing about it was the site was hosted on our school provided webspace, so finding it would be kind of difficult.
Pogs were only good for certain slammers because they fit in plastic tubes to make the perfect one peice double chambered bongs.
Other than that, they were as cool as pet rocks.
