FRAMINGHAM, MASSACHUSETTS (WWLP)- A police affidavit unsealed today reveals what Neil Entwistle told a detective three days after the murders of his wife and baby daughter. According to the document, Entwistle said he left his Hopkinton home on the morning of January 20th, with his wife Rachel and nine-month-old daughter Lillian still asleep. He said he returned to find them both shot to death. Instead of calling for help, Entwistle said he got a knife to kill himself, but could not go through with it. According to the affidavit, Entwistle said he then drove to his in-laws home in Carver to get a gun to kill himself, but when he was unable to get into the home, went to Logan Airport so he could fly to his parents home in England. The affidavit also says Entwistle's DNA was found on the grip of the gun allegedly used in the killings, and that Rachel Entwistle's DNA was found on the muzzle. Meanwhile, British Home Secretary Charles Clarke has signed an order authorizing Entwistle's return to the U.S. to face trial for murder. Entwistle agreed earlier on Friday to waive extradition and could be back in Massachusetts within a week.
