Israel, India, Pakistan and now Iran.
Just what we need - a Middle East Nuclear Arms Race.
Watch the oil price spike if Iran quits the NPT, 100$ a barrel easily. Exxon will be pleased!

You know what I realized?
As I was reading this thread, I was listening to the song Four Enclosed Walls by Public Image Ltd.
I found the lyrics apt:
Allah
Allah
Doom sits in gloom in his room
Destroy the infidel
In a mosque
In a ghost
Is a sword
Is a Saracen
Allah
Joan of Arc was a sorcerer
The trilogy the desert sand
Scriptures in the tower of Babble
Allah
Only ending is easy
Burn
Burn
Burn
In the tower
Only ending is easy
Allah
Arise in the east
The trilogy
Allah
Allah
I take heed
Arise in the West
A new crusade
Speak it Johnny!

Simple economics.Americans? Oh, you mean the ones living in the State of Israel, the one which includes territory classified as occupied, under international law?
Or do you really think that Iran's nuclear program is a threat to the US?
You're dumber than Sisko if you do.

Israel was never a signatory.
India, Pakistan, and Iran all were.
Completely inapropos post.

International law is BS.
International law is BS.Including laws relating to torture?
Israel was never a signatory.
India, Pakistan, and Iran all were.
Completely inapropos post.Iran still is, Israel never was, India and Pakistan are not any more.
Still leaves the Middle East in a fairly delicate situation, whatever the history.
Dunnit?

Including laws relating to torture?
Completely unenforceable as it stands now and for the forseeable future : since the US, Britain, France, China, and Russia all have veto power over any real enforcement of anything substantive the UN wants to accomplish, nothing substantive will truly be accomplished.
Perhaps, if those permanent members of the Security Council were to revoke their repspective national Constitutions and suborn their national authorities to an international authority, THEN we could discuss the efficacy of the UN as world governing body. Until then, it's all hot air and blather that emanates from there.
Can you REALLY see those countries saying...."OK, we'll give up our national rights so that we are equal with countries like North Korea or Iran"?
Me neither.
