sky digital was always a bad idea. that's what i said at the beginning, but i take it back now.
when my flat just had four channels we would perhaps watch 95% channel4 goodness - good news, good documentaries, good trash, even. since sky entered our lives we now just have 500 more channels of absolute horseshit. we sit in our own filth [smeared plates of olive oil after eating salad, mostly] watching total, unashamed, trash.
as a trio our taste for trash differs quite wildly:
i am a sucker for e! news reports and all those "top 40 fucking gorgeous bodies over 40" shows. america's next top model. etc. i think this is not too much of a guilty pleasure.
sarah, however, is a bit of a disaster queen. i think i must have watched every single aircrash investigation. if it's a horrific accident and it's covered on tv, we've seen it. she's also one for [and i have to admit i like it too] documentaries about children with massive facial disfigurements or mutant babies or women with 500 pound tumours, etc. also everything on the reality channel like the world eating championships; now there's a show...
scott tries to disguise his trash under a thin veil of education. it'll veer from "when the good times/pets go bad.... 13!!" to documentaries about chernobyl but you know he's only watching it to see what radiation does to your body. that, and other historical documentaries which on one hand educate but on the other reveal the horrific things that have happened in the past in gory detail - nazi experiments etc.
i think we have a problem, rupert.
take it away so i can go back to watching channel4 news and richard and judy and that's it!
i have to go to america to see what trash awaits me there, methinks...
