Aside from the BEASTIE BOYS, Radiohead, Green Day (especially their new album as their older ones I'm neutral on), and the Chili Peppers, what great artists do we have? Not forgetting Tori Amos, Alanis, and a few others, I mean the Pumpkins are the biggest losers on the face of the earth. I would have NOTHING without the Beastie Boys and I mean that along with some of the other artists listed here -- but unlike sp (blotfote), they have STAYED TOGETHER. They have saved my soul in spiritual times of hardship.
That said, does anyone else have this experience with the Beasties? Include your catalogue of life changing artists if you want. Peace

Don't forget Debbie Gibson! She didn't really have staying power but man could she belt out "Electric Youth"

I loved when they did that quick cut to Michael Jordan in that video.
Doesn't that song remind you of something you and your cousins would've wrote for your "rock" band when you were 7 years old?

Well, I think there are good artists on music yet.
I have a big list, but I like to say Madlib, Mos Def and Cypress Hill for example.

Hey y'all thanks for all the responses. That little sweetheart whose Dad and Grandmother died all at once, God bless your little sweet heart darling. Thanks for sharing those that were not just torquing, that is cool. I like a lot of those bands I mean, when you're talking Cypress Hill, you know you know your shit. Incubus is great but they don't satisfy my hungry appetites, but i like their music but they didn't change my life. Two different things entirely. U2 is a life changing band. Everyone knows it too, you know, because those fuckers can make you cry. Anyhow, thanks for being cool and open and honest. Its the only way.
Mike D really is the ladies choice. HOT!!! (I"m a sexy girl)

QUEEN changed my life. I started to like music because of Queen, I mean, before them, I was just listening to kids song... Queen has opened my mind and I was just 4 years old.
Foo Fighters helped me when my parents divorced... I was 7 years old.
Alanis helped me in my adolescense, When I had depression issues... I was 14....
Beastie boys never helped me a lot, but I like them as good artists and They have wonderful songs.

incubus is probably a band i would recommend, they are easily the most creative band, both lyrically, a nd in sound I have ever heardyes, they are good, but there are many bands not getting reconised, incubus is a well off band and they have plenty fans (including me) I would suggest blur, muse, or radiohead, gorillaz are better than the bands I just mentioned, but they already have plenty fans.
