Hooray for capitalism (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2006/02/19/BUGFTHAP1A1.DTL)
The Chinese government routinely prevents its citizens from accessing information it deems threatening.
Banned info includes stuff relating to:
Tibet
the Dalai Lama
Taiwanese Independence
Tiananmen Square
and Democracy
US companies wishing to do business in China must conform to Chinese laws prohibiting access to information about these sensitive topics.
On the outside, this may seem like capitalism at work, but is it? Is suppressing factual, historical information a valiant endeavor?

"… it’s a little strange to tie free trade to human rights issues, it is basically getting down to interference in internal affairs."
Bill Gates, then CEO of Microsoft, standing shoulder to shoulder with Jiang Zemin during a photo-op in Beijing, 1994.
The Golden Shield (http://www.ichrdd.ca/english/commdoc/publications/globalization/goldenShieldEng.html) and Googles sell out (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4645596.stm) to China is appalling.
Lets just take the fucking internet (http://www.noluv4google.com/article.php?id=801) back. Time for a savvy upstart to cash in, Goodbye Google and Mr. Gates.

I already did for the Winter Olympics. Corporate sponsorship has made spontaneity impossible. The athletes are the corporate mascots.

The genie is out of the bottle on the information highway and not only does the corporate structure want cash in on it, goverments want to sieze it and restrict any transparency which flows through for public digestion, because really, an inform citizen is going to make informed choices.
Hopefully the cork has popped so far out of the stratosphere no combination or any one entity can ever plug this bottle, because it is on baby, it is on.
