It allows me to email back and forth with my job and friends from anywhere in the world (even a ferry in Sydney harbour). The people I work with don't text message, etc. -- they just email. Blackberry email is instant like text messaging. Other devices can be much slower.

My new one is up and running and I couldn't be happier.

The funny thing is that I absolutely hate the phone and never answer it, but I read emails all the time. :rolleyes:
