I was just wondering if the boys sometimes get tired of writing rhymes. Thinking this way i've reached a conclusion: YES, they do!!!!

Well, at least there's a moment in one of their songs that always makes me so sure about my conclusion. The song is So What'cha Want. Yes.....the classic!!!! But why im saying this. Well, take a look at this Mr. Diamond's rhymes:

"Well I Think I'm Losing My Mind This Time
This Time I'm Losing My Mind That's Right
I Said I Think I'm Losing My Mind This Time
This Time I'm Losing My Mind"

This is a lack of inspiration or what?? :D

Btw, could you find more "easiest rhymes"?

I always liked this part of so watcha want, it just sounds good.I don't think it is a lack of creativity, but this is :

We're doing fine on the One and Nine line
On the L we're doin' swell

I know, what I mean is that sometimes you don't need sophisticated words/lines for the song to be good
and sometimes even the lyrics don't help :p

When I first heard that I cracked up, Mike D's such a joker. :D I thought it was pretty creative though and it flows well, so yeah. I can't really think of any but maybe..."peter eating parking meter all of the time" even though it sounds pretty cool and it's fun to say, it just don't make sense to me. Maybe because there's no parking meters where I live so I can't relate.

I don't think they'd put anything out that shows a lack of creativity which they're aware of...at least at the time.

Are you talking about the easiest rhyme from anyone or just the Beastie Boys?

Lorentzson
02-23-2006, 05:19 PM
What about all the times he uses the phrase: "My name is adrock, im' a scorpio" or "im a scorpio so you know im very sexual". Isnt that a bit of a lack of creativity? Also in Unite: "Tell me party people, whats your zodiac style" (zodiac is what sign you are right?) They are really hung up on zodiacs :p

That's the great thing about the Beastie Boys! They have managed to do so many silly, but at the same time, interesting stuff. It's all syncronized in perfect harmony. :)

I wish they wrote a song about monkey soup or monkey habits.:o

I got the feeling about pass the mic one time too, but it's too cool to worry about.

how about:

"George W. got nuthin on me / we got to take the power from he"

although I like the general message, it probably fits into this thread
