I had a question about the SXSW FILM FESTIVAL. You see i want to go to the Regional Premiere of Awesome: I F**kin' Shot That from the Beastie Boys and I know for SXSW you will need to buy badges that range from $300 to almost $600 for all day passes. All i want is to see the premire of this movie, and my question is do i have to buy the badge to see it or can i just go through your box office to buy tickets to just see this movie? I would really appreciate it if you can get back to me. Thank you.

Josh,

You can buy a ticket for just the movie on the day of the movie. Most movie tickets are $7.00 and are available starting at noon the day of the premiere.

Man, I would love for all the B-Boy fans to get into this screening, but unfortunately, the pecking order of a SXSW event is pretty rigid.

Premieres at SXSW (especially at the Paramount, and I imagine ESPECIALLY the Beasties) are hard as hell to get into unless you have one of the lamanated badges, or directly connected to someone who was on the film shoot.

I am bummed that I don't have a film badge for this, but I will definitely be down on Congress Ave that night trying my hardest to get into this thing.

If anyone is driving to Austin and tries to get in, good luck! Do it for the fans!

I'm so excited to see the movie but I'm also wondering about the interview they're giving at the Austin Convention Center...Anyone know how to get into that??? For those that know Austin is it safe to say the Beasties movie will come to Alamo Drafthouse if we can't get in at the SXSW event?

i can't tell you for sure how to get into the interview, but my brother, who is a SXSW volunteer, told me that you can get in with a film badge (which is $300) but he doesn't think you can get in with just a film pass (which is $65). The interview is going to be held in Room 18ABC which is a panel area and usually those aren't open for general admission.

if you can't get in the SXSW screening, on march 23rd they will be showing it at 3 locations in austin, you can find those locations here (http://www.awesomeishotthat.com/march23/)
alamo drafthouse isn't included though.

while it doesn't say how to get in, there's an article about the Convention Center screening that I posted in the Press (http://www.beastieboys.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=63871) section.

The Beastie Boys will present their new live film, "Awesome: I F---in' Shot That!" March 15 to an audience at the Austin Convention Center. After a screening of the film--created by giving video cameras to 50 Beastie Boys fans and having them shoot the band during an October 2004 performance at Madison Square Garden--wireless microphones will be handed out and the audience will be given an opportunity to conduct an interview with the band, "in the spirit of the film," according to a press release. The screening is part of the SXSW (music) film festival, which runs concurrently with the music festival.
