HOW is ready for that new consert dvd of the beastie boys man i cant wait beacuse its coming to the movies i wanna see it so bad doesnt it come out March 31st i cant rember u know what would be even cooler or should i say awsome if they show that dvd in the Imax that would be sooo awsome it would be SUPER LOUD with all the speakrs behind the screen

Damn, talk about a run on sentence. :p Anyway, yes I can't wait because it's coming to my city!! It would be cool if it was in the Imax, or omnimax is what it's called here. It's the theater in the science center where it's all around you, that's what you were talking about right? That would be really tight but that's not going to happen. I'm so excited though! :D

We all know when its going to hit theaters, but when is the DVD comming out?

Haven't heard a specific date yet, just Summer 2006. For some reason I have June stuck in my head, but I'm not sure if that's official.

the film is being screened across the nation on March 23rd...

then it plays limited release(NY and L.A.) on March 31st


then it will be released on DVD sometime in the summer, perhaps June...


try reading a thread or two before you start up a new one...

Well last time I saw a regular film on IMAX (that wasnt shot using IMAX cameras) it looked pretty crappy. I saw one of the new star wars and the aspect ratio is all skewed so the picture looks circular on the screen and DOESNT look good. I mean it was cool that it was so big, but it almost makes u motion sick. Also my local IMAX doesnt bump the bass like they used to. They used to showoff the subwoofers really hard while explaining the sound system, and last time i went the bass sounded like crap, like the woofers had blown. I would love to see an imax beastie movie, and imagined that if i were ever to shoot a movie that would be the ultimate (imax + 7.1 THX surround) but ultimately it would initially too expensive.

I did see a 3d imax that was really cool, and also if anyone has seen Shrek 4-d, at Universal Studios, its pretty cool too. The have built in shaking seats, plus wind and water that sprays on you so its definetly good if you arent expecting it. Now thats the ultimate next dimension....

that wud be hard to make AIFST in 4-d but i'd luv 2 see it in IMAX :cool:

When the dvd comes out, if you own the following gear you'll hear the music better than in many real theaters (please see avatar for reason for writing this :) ):

* Cerwin-Vega politically incorrect speakers (http://cerwinvega.com/products/homeaudiovideo/Classic/clsc10.html). I think J&R Music is selling a pair of these for only $350 because newer versions are coming. BTW: a pair of these with fifteen inch woofers is only $400 (http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product=3963424).

* Onkyo stereo receiver (http://www.us.onkyo.com/model.cfm?m=TX-8011&class=Receiver&p=i). Circuit City has this on sale right now for @$90. Trust me, a real 50 watts per channel is *truly* more than enough to piss off parents, neighbors, or your dorm R.A.

* your dvd player

No this isn't a sexy iPod that can be taken to a coffehouse, but it will sound a LOT better (and in my opinion will sound much better than those little black cubes (http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htforum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=236130)). And obviously you can listen to music on it from CDs, vinyl because the receiver includes a turntable input, and an iPod with a cheap adaptor cord.

I grew up with "big" audio systems like this and despite all these new digital devices that fit in your pocket, sometimes there's just no subsitute for raw power and a pair of large floorstanders to put you (nearly) back in the show.
