Creative Zen.

Although Micros have dodgy headphone jacks.

I had one mate, but it broke. And the customer service dep. were really poor about it. That puts me off another creative, though they are good. I here i rivers are the most "lastable" not breaking easily. Its just once i'm in uni i can't afford another replacement.

on certain days, my 20gig zen will reset and start saying "rebuilding library". biggest fuckin' annoyance ever. i just don't understand what it's doing or why it does it.

Go with either the iRiver since the micro seem to have a lot of headphone jack issues. Or the larger capacity iPod, 60gb would give you the more space for your money but might be out of your budget. 30gn is fine aswell, a bit more acessories and the like and if you don't mind the lack of FM, a lot more features.

I heard about ipod bugs and problems, which put me off in the first place. What about the new photo ipods? They much better? No problems? I can't find an expert!

They have great forums, I would advice to do some research first. Also there are no NEW iPod photos, only iPod videos, that let you watch videos on the iPod screen or hook it up to your TV. As far as bugs and the such with that one, nothing serious I have heard.

Thanks! i know the nano and original ipods had a lot of bugs, and my mates that got em, ended up having them break pretty soon. I don't want that to happen. I havn't heard ipod photo problems though (y)

My nano is working fine thus far, I think it had to do with some firmware upgrading but, not sure.
