i am going to new york next wednesday or thursday for the big east basketball tournament and i want to go to a comedy club one eveningwhile i'm there

so where should i go?

also, what other places should i try and go to. i've been there enough to do all the traditional touristy sites, so i want something that will be entertaining, yet not cost an arm and a leg

ps: i am also going to hartford this weekend for the womens tournament, but between the lack of stuff there and our hotel being far from anything remote, my guess is that it turns into a drinkfest

I don't know what the times are for the games, but BB Kings Bar and grill is a good time depending on whos playing.

On Friday NIght (3/10) they're having a Guns n Roses "Tribute" Band.

Good Comedy clubs include Caroline's Patton Oswalt (Spence on King of Queens) is playing the Thursday- Saturday of that weekend.

I could spend a couple of days in there.

edit: just added the quote, which I forgot to add the first time. Go to the museum and get yourself some culcha.

I know you'll leave Pittsburgh clean and return with HIV.

You're just jealous that the NYC Bridges are cooler than anything in Pittsburgh.

I would check out the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theater - seems like they have stuff going on every night.

I hate to say it, but not after what happened to the sharks earlier this month--10 deaths. :(

Since 2000, something like 23 sharks have died at the Pittsburgh Zoo.

That's awful.

i was looking at this site that listed jazz clubs in manhattan and they had that listed (or at least the loungue associated with it) with a big "RIP????" next to it.

so it's as if nobody knew if it was open or closed

The sharks deserve a bit of melancholy from us all, really. (But if you need cheering up, it's going to be 50 and 51 tomorrow & Thursday.)

well anyway, i was talking about the pitt basketball student section.
I find it funny when people talk about a thing and I think they're talking about a different thing and I speak to it like it was the thing that it isn't. If you can make any sense out of that. When I do that and don't realize it and then later realize it: :D for me but probably  for everyone else.

For the record, it's the Oakland Zoo and I'm glad those sharks died because I like to take baths in shark infested bathtubs.
