Primo seems to like surrounding himself with a lot of mediocre and sometimes just plain wack talent. Group Home, obviosuly. Afu Ra and Big Shug...wtf? Jeru's meh. And let's be honest, Guru wasn't always thaaaaaaaaaat great. He should stick to working with artists of the Nas, M.O.P., Jigga and BIG caliber.

his album cover (http://cover6.cduniverse.com/MuzeAudioArt/590/599796.jpg) is even more homoerotic than "The Massacre"

I agree totally.

On another note, what's with the group home "living proof" hate? the album is decent although the production totally outshines the duo. i don't know how you could hate on them off that one album though. the rhymes are fair at best, but it doesn't really seem too different from guru's entire career. fact is primo made gangstarr nice. peep guru without primo and tell me he is doing bigger things than group home. don't even think that i'm a huge group home fan b/c i'm not. i bought "tears from the ghetto" and i quickly found out what group home is about without primo, they're just plain weak. i thought they were nice on living proof though. i have to agree with mickill on the fact that without primo all those artist lack. "wraith of the math" is the last jeru album i bought, the "body of the lifeforce" (afu-ra) is worth it b/c it's mainly primo produced, but go and buy "lifeforce radio" and become instantly pissed. lol @ buying freddie foxxx "bumpy knuckles" or any guru (non-jazzmatazz). i guess what i'm saying is without primo most of the artists he has produced exclusively are extra weak, with his production though, they have just enough life in them to stay in the game.

I've been listening to a lot of DJ Premier recently and I think "So Ghetto" by Jay-Z is also one of his best. (y)

Some others I like that aren't really talked about here:

Snoop Dogg - The One And Only
Common - 6th Sense
Nas - NY State of Mind (although it's really the rhymes that make this track)

And I like what he did with the Batman tune for Snoop's "Batman and Robin". I don't think Primo has ever made a wack beat. (y)

that's true to me as well but I do know that I think that Pete Rock, at least to me, is better (in terms of actaully producing a track). My opinion.

I got hooked on 'The Antidote' by the Wiseguys recently. I kept hearing that 'ah say..Oooo..la.laaa..' song and was curious as to what else these dudes might bring to the table.

Pretty chunky beats. Me likes.
