Yeah, he's mainstream and safe as all get-out, but Ron Howard has done some really good stuff. Like Apollo 13. And... and the part in Cinderella Man where the wrist cracks and they cut in a few frames of an X-ray. And... and about the first half of A Beautiful Mind. And there's probably more I just can't think of, but Apollo 13 was dandy, and those special effects genuinely, genuinely looked like the real thing. And he made Tom Hanks and Kevin Bacon puke a lot in the vomit comit to get the weightlessness stuff.

So anyway. Seems like a genuinely decent human being, PLUS HE BROUGHT US ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, so something's right. (y)
