My mom is moving and we were cleaning out garages/attics/closets. Along with alot of other crap that one usually finds when moving. I found my lego collection (given to the needy my ass) way in the back of the attic in this huge footlocker. It was like I then wanted to stop packing up bring everything downstairs and build./play again. Im 31 so these have probably been up ther for at least 15 years.
Great memories.

Kerplunk! was fun.
...and wasn't that stuff called Slime? It was basically this green goo in a green plastic trash can. Then they had Worms, which was purple with dark purple worms in it, packaged in an orange trash can.

i think we all had glo-worms at some point.
spirograph KICKED ASS.
so did my lite brite. and my spin art and my motorized pottery wheel. it was such a piece of crap. plastic, and it struggled so hard to turn. it was maybe the size of a paper plate. i only ever made two shitty little cups with it. they gave you MODELING clay! COME ON!
last night matt and i were talking about blankies. i still have mine. i remember the day when my mom was cutting the fabric on the floor of our old house. i was 3. and i remember the day when i realized my legs were too long for it to cover me completely. it's blue with teddy bears holding balloons and wearing overalls and i love it.

oooh oooh ooooh i also had lots of science-y kits for kids stuff.
a fingerprint one, and a magnetic-something one. you could do crazy things with all the wee magnetic.. things. microscopes. i was constantly trying to find dried blood or something to go under it, hehe. awwwh.
and even tho it technically isn't a toy, i really loved those adventure books where you had to solve a puzzle in the pages, decode a message, turn to page 120, etc etc. absolute joy!

getting kind of off-topic, but in the vein of weird science...
my big brother and i were freakin' alchemists when we were kids. specifically concerning the eradication of wasp nests around our house in the summer. those mofos would hang around our pool on hot days and scare the crap out of us! so after we'd run out of the standard bug killer we'd use weed killer, then use the bottles from both of those (with the spray hose still attached) and mix whatever we could find in them. motorcycle oil, antifreeze, bleach, fabric softener, cans' worth of wd-40, anything. and brother would spray and i'd hold the towel to throw over any wasps that might be chasing us. and i had to use it many, many times. the worst was once when we mixed ammonia and bleach and it started smoking and the bottle in which we were mixing it sort of started to melt...after we could breathe again, we poured it into another bottle and tried it out. it was the greatest thing. we'd hit a wasp and it would hover for about half a second - then fall to the ground motionless. it kicked ass.
we also played with fire quite a bit.

Until a few years ago, there was a pond in the place where I'd hike through and it looked to be filled with gak. Slime pond. Gak pond. Thick, green, frothy.

i still use this pillow that i've had for most of my life. its so grungy and dirty looking, and the cotton inside is probably all moldy, but i don't care and its always a little weird when i dont sleep with it

spirograph KICKED ASS.
I still love spirograph, I have a little 'travel' one that works w/standard size Post-it notes. Sometimes I do them on the bus and leave my little spiro-art squares around for others to enjoy. I'm a giver.
My favorite toys were 'people', like the little Fisher-Price people and stuff. I just liked making up names for them and making up stories about who they were and what they were doing and stuff.

Ruxspin (I think that's how it's spelled). When I was little I knocked one of Teddy's eyes back into his head. I thought I killed him. And then he started talking. I screamed so loudly my mom thought someone broke in and was trying to abduct me. :o

I had an Evel Knievel(sp) motorcycle that you put in a traction strip and then pulled it out as fast as possible and send him on his way. RAD!
I also had an Evel Knievel car that had a "parachute" this was a wind up that you could circle spin then push the button and send this car on it's way
the motorcycle was the cat's ass though. Bc once it was unleashed katey bar the door
