Hello,

Just wondering, since the 20 year anniversary of Licensed to Ill is coming up, does anyone know if there are plans for a reissue on cd?

Hopefully it might contain some bonus tracks, like "Rock Hard," "She's on it," "Beastie Groove," "Party's Gettin' Rough," "I'm Down," and "Scenario."

Or would "Rock Hard" and "I'm Down" be too hard to clear because of sample problems/etc?

I've heard that the Beasties consider "Rock Hard" to be embarrassing, so they might leave it off for that. With "I'm Down" they would have to battle the one and only Michael Jackson because he owns the rights to the Beatles' songbook.

here's one for ya. i found a copy of LTI on record in a crate at this guys house i was doing some tile work in... he was a "retired d.j.". so i convinced him to give me the crates (2). anyway, i got schnockered at a house party one night & let this idiotic redneck learn scratching while i walked away... long story short he ruined like 5 songs BiGTiME! so i ended up selling the record to a "friend" for $20, ( he knew about the scratches ). WHAT'S MY POINT YOU ASK??? Reissue LTI limited press vinyl, PLEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAASEEEEEEEEE!!! Till then I'll be in the bins. ~ PACE V

DEF JAM CLASSICS

Universal Music Catalogue are re-pressing and re-issuing a series of classic LPs and 12” singles from Def Jam, the most groundbreaking and inspired hip hop and urban music label of a generation.

Drawing on its hugely impressive catalogue created in the 21 years since its humble beginnings in a student dorm room, this series of re-issues collects old school classics by the Beastie Boys, Public Enemy and LL Cool J along with more recent masterpieces from Ja Rule, Ludacris and Sisqo along with forgotten gems from Memphis Bleek, DMX and Slick Rick.

Through careful research and consultation, Universal Music Catalogue have picked out 17 LPs and 19 12”s from the Def Jam archive. Many have long been unavailable on vinyl and will be welcomed back with open tone-arms.

I have a LTI Def Jam Remastered CD (from 2000) and it's perfect, but my Paul's Boutique has a bit smaller volume

I just got some Run-D.M.C.'s reissues and they are LOUD
