there was a great article in Newsweek a month back titled "The Trouble with Boys"....it deals with this topic...look it up.

Also, it seems society says its funny if women are voilent to men? it's a patriarchal society. the male is considered the dominant gender.
when a dominant side bullies or abuses the weaker....that is considered expliotative.
when the weaker side attempts to peck at the dominant side, it is considered "cute" or "funny" to a degree.
in this situation, a male is expected to be able to take a little punishment a "weaker" woman....
