...home business merchants clog up the search results with all this crap + crazy shipping fees... sniper software gets stuff ripped right out from under you.... (n)

software? i always just wait for 10 seconds to be left, and then bid. i havn't bought anything from e-bay for a few months, not because i don't like it, but because i'm broke...

...yeah; I can't always be on top of auctions, so I have to just determine my high bid and go for it.

I have never used it but the impression that I get when I look on there is that EBay is no longer a dynamic and open market but is instead plagued by information assymetries and full of crap.

I dont think I would buy from it - I think it is a sellers market.

I basically confine myself to the "Buy it now" stuff.

I haven't bought anything either for ages, mainly because I've been broke, but also there hasn't been that much that I really wanted (except a few Beastie-skateboards, but I could never afford those...) and the shipping's almost always a PITA to Sweden. Sometimes I've found someone sending stuff for $4 and others take $11.....

I've been doing OK lately on baby stuff, but I think that that's because that's a pretty dynamic market. Babies only need such-and-such for so long, so there's loads of people out there with stuff that's still in good nick and who want to make at least some of the money they spent on all this gear back.
