"Mashed Potatoes" line in the film Waiting

Hey guys...I looked around and didn't see any posts about this, so...

In the movie Waiting, there's a scene in the very beginning and the very first line in the film is one of the cooks, played by Loius Guzman, saying "Well if it's gonna be that kinda party, I'm gonna stick my dick in the mashed potatoes!" (note: some people think I'm saying that's where the original sample is from - no - this film was just released recently - he's just saying that line and I found it funny)

My friend who was with me actually is the one who caught it. He's like - wait...rewind that...and sure enough, there was the famous line!!

BTW that movie is absolutely awful, that was probably the best part, but yeah, there was my little Beastie moment of the day

I'm being serious. I thought someone had talked about this in another thread a while back, like when the movie was out in theaters. And yes, I did buy the dvd a few weeks ago and thought it was hilarious. I guess you would have to have been a waiter to really appreciate it.

It's not that hard to understand -

In the movie Waiting, a character says that line....he is simply repeating it from wherever the original line is from (which we obviously don't know yet, perhaps he just got it from the Beasties sample).

well i might have figured it out. after "googling" it last night i found some other forum that said it was comedian Red Foxx, i went on amazon and found an album by him but i have no idea if its actually on there, i doubt ill buy it. maybe its a start...

Nope...it's not Red Foxx. There are several old threads about this subject buried somewhere around here.

I personally bought about 3 different comedy albums that were thought to contain the sample. One of them even has a track titled mashed potatoes, but it's not it.

Yauch even commented on it...but didn't really give us the scoop.
