although there is no real "normal" i thought i wasnt far from it until i realised:
* i sometimes find it hard to distinguish if certain events actually happened or if i was dreaming it.
*i am interested in world news and politics, even though my class mates dont even know what "confetti" is.
* i can sleep for more than 12 hours without being wasted or stoned.
*i give myself therapy sessions i which i can uncover psycological problems i have.
so is it just that im wierd or do any of those things happen to you guys?

Depends on if you're talking about daydreaming or not. I don't wonder if something I've just daydreamed about really happened or not, but sometimes I'll wake up and a dream will be so vivid that I think it was real. I think that's pretty common.

Is confetti something different over there? Can't imagine kids your age wouldn't know what it is. Anyway, being interested in current events and politics at your age might not be "normal" but it's certainly a good thing.
As for the other two, can't really say if those are normal or not. I now teenagers sleep more than young kids and adults, but I don't know about twelve hours. And self diagnosing psychological problems seems like it could be pretty dangerous. Nice to see ya back on, kiddo. (y)

haha, we once trieds to have a discussion in tutorial, i suggested we have it on a major political issue of the time, while my class mates found the discussion was better wasted on what confetti was because half of them didnt no and that other half was bagging them for not knowing.
its nice to see that in writing "you are normal",its like having the insane sticker on ur forehead removed and watching everyones face of aproval that u rnt differenmt.

Or it could be due to stress or maybe chronic fatigue syndrome (I can't remember if that's the actual name of it right now). Sounds like it's stress to me. I used to get massive headaches because of stress, to the point where I would vomit. I got them like clockwork too. Every sunday afternoon, because I didn't want to go to school the next day. And I wasn't going through anything remotely close to what you told me about before. Maybe with you it manifests itself as exhaustion.

Hmmm, don't know what to say. Getting the situation with your sis sorted out is bound to help some, though it sounds like the mean girls at your school are part of the problme as well, and THAT won't be so easy to take care of. That's exactly what caused my headaches at your age. It only got better because we moved and I went to a new school. I'm pretty sure that won't happen for you though. Hmmm.

You are normal. What is happening to you is completely normal for your age. It might not seem like it, but it is. Your body is going through a lot of changes, internally and externally. Your hormones are fluctuating wildly. Most people think of hormones and immediately just link them with sexuality, but chemically in your body they have other effects as well that you are not even aware of. Your endocrine system is rapidly maturing. All of these things take energy - this is why you feel tired and can sleep for hours and hours. Making sure you are eating a good diet and not too much sugar and white-flour foods will help combat that.
As far as feeling like no one else is thinking about certain things or feeling them as acutely as you are, trust me, also entirely normal. I think there are plenty of us here who can think of the bad angsty poems we wrote at 15 about how no one in the world understands us and the depths of our suffering ("so alone, so alone / and only the black bird / who knows my soul" blah de blah, that sort of thing) and cringe.
Trust me, you're normal. For better or for worse.

my boyfriend became my boyfriend because one of the first things he said to me was "you are not normal. dont even try to convince anyone otherwise." he had just barely met me. and he was/is right.

Ditto. I also tap my head three times for the expression of 'touch wood'. It pisses me off, but it's become a habit

And I'm not normal, therefore, you aren't. That's good. I promise!:o:D

Cut her some slack Lopp, she's only 13. She doesn't know that yet. Most of the rest of us here have the benefit of hindsight. Can you honestly not remember what it's like to be a young teenager and feel the way she does?

When I was a lad of 13 you got validation from your homies by lying about how many boobs you had seen/touched....my how times have changed

...I know that, a couple of times, I've had dreams about "real life" after which, even though I know it was a dream, I kind of react to people as if what they did in the dream was actually real. That's an odd state of mind. :D

You might be surprised at how little this impresses 13 year old girls. Now, then or ever.
