Wow, I first saw that at leat 3 years ago. It mentions a guy called Andrew Ferguson and I went to college with a guy with the same name. Good story.

yeah that's a pretty good, and somewhat accurate description of how postmodern pastiche relates to the song (and probably other songs that feature samples, and reference many aspects of pop culture)
i'm studying postmodernism at the moment in art theory, and that was a really interesting piece to read.
