["interesting (http://www.beastieboys.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=63519) reading" (http://www.beastieboys.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=64095).]

i would not've survived without my camera. took about 350 pictures, here's a few of'em.

woke up in the intensive care ward with drains and cords everywhere, feeling alright, thanks to all anaesthesia. i even got up and walked a bit.

... beep ... beep ...

"surgery fact": my ribs were bent apart. and i could really feel that when the spinal anaesthesia was over. i needed morphine 24-7 for a few days, 'cause it hurt with every breath i took.

^ that, because of

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v247/funkymustard/mypolyp.png

^ the polyp that bothered me for two years. the little bastard had a diameter of 1.5 cm, and would not've minded growing bigger.

the last picture was taken via bronchoscopy, which btw was one of the coolest things i've ever experienced (although the anaesthetic-spray was horrible and i always had to fast like twelve hours before). i'll maybe scan and post an after-picture (when the polyp was removed) later, but that's all for now. ask shit if you want to.

Doesn't it feel weird when you see all these tubes coming out of you? I took some pics of mine as well cause I felt like an alien.

That's very clever that they gave you a scar where it wouldn't be noticed if you're wearing a bra or bikini top. Smart doctors!

I'm happy you're on the mend. You are one tough lady.

thank you all once again. :=)

Wow what a scar Alex! It was pretty quick they took the stiches away
the stitches are still there, until they've "melt" inside my body. pretty awesome.

word, i felt like a robot, and tried to count all tubes i could see.
btw I knew turd was gonna make a remark like that....
lol, it even went through my head when i made that post.

i think they just wanted to get through my ribs as smooth as possible. ;=) but yeah. speaking about bra, i haven't worn one in a month now (not that i ever needed to :D). feels great.

you are definetly my hero now (y)

did you have a friend take some of those photos for you i imagine?

alexandra
03-14-2006, 11:13 AM
^ yes, different people (siblings, buddies, nurses ...), but i took these myself:

three days after the surgery i had a "mini operation", where this "ventilator" was "installed". through a little tube down in my lungbag it was suppose to "pump" some air out of there, but did the opposite (i may have had something to do with that), and a nice little scar was left from the tube.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v247/funkymustard/pump.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v247/funkymustard/frontwound.jpg
(yes Turd, nipple.)

lunch via tube. (it didn't taste much. :D)

These photos are cool because you are in them, but still quite scary none the less. Its terrible that you had to go through all this. However I'm glad that you are alright :) Hope your next surgery goes smoothly(y)

i was at a meeting yesterday (when i should've been operated) with all kind of doctors who are involved with my "case", and it was the most hilarious thing i've seen in a while. it was like oncologists vs. surgeons, etc. "shut up and listen to me, i'm the expert, blabla, you're just a surgeon." my surgeon just rolled his eyes like "okay whatever, i'm "just a surgeon", so let's hear what this jerk has to say", and i lol'ed so hard. it was very entertaining, and eventually some decisions were made.

i'm gonna get treated with radiation instead, starting next wednesday. how boring. no more morphine or wicked scars.

"i wouldn't mind putting a knife in you again, but radiation seems better right now." /my surgeon <2.8

alright enough about this kind of shiet-uh. i've made too many hospital threads. DIIIE!
