Why would knowing something like that make a man gay? That is absolutely idiotic for two reasons:

1. Guys pay attention to what women wear. Why would you think that we don't? We keep mental notes on what looks good on a woman and what doesn't. Especially when that woman is someone we are involved with.

2. Any guy that has ever been shopping with a woman is gonna know a whole lotta shit about women's clothes that he would sooner just forget.
