One good album.

One.

And pretty soon it'll just be one dude and he'll still be calling it The Pharcyde.

replace "the pharcyde" with "gravediggaz" and your post would still make sense

I personally liked a lot of Labcabincalifornia, but when I saw the new "Pharcyde" I was pretty disapointed.

Some egos got blown up and it ruined what could have been a really great hip hop legacy.

I got Fatlip's new CD, got some hits and some misses. It would be good to see these cats patch things up. I head a rumor a while back too that Fatlip and the other estranged Pharcyder were going to start a new crew, Edycrahp. No joke.

If they're still good is a matter of opinion. While they have drastically changed their lineup and style, I for one, still think they make great music. And I think it's very cool how they pushed on, and didn't give up on hip hop altogether after all the BS they've been through.

Well, I think most of their BS has been self inflicted...

Yep...that is what he told a good friend of mine after a bottle of Hennessy.
I think it was gonna be with Imani.

He even references Edycrahp in "whatcha gonna do" which is pretty damn good song.

The strange thing about the Pharcyde is that after Bizzare Ryde....the only good songs they ever had were collabs with other artists. All of their other albums make great coasters.

two of the members wanted to keep it more r&b style they were moving towards in labcabincalifornia. iamni and fatlip wanted to go back to more old school hip hop. there were some rumors that fatlip was on dope which he still denies and they gave him the boot. imani was outvoted and then they made plain rap which was blah.

more ego fueled drama and imani split and pharcyde continued to tour but when you'd get to the shows it would be only two guys that had a hard time carrying fatlip's and imani's flows, or would leave them out of songs completely.

that was the beauty of Pharcyde, the differing styles and voices made for a greater whole than the sum of their parts.

I saw them back in the labcab days and really enjoyed them. They played here last Saturday and We Are Scientists were playing as well and I couldn't quite make up my mind which to see. Then I got ill (again, propably the fifth time since I started working at pre-school...) so I didn't see either of them...

Tre Hardson plays a lot of small bars/clubs in the Tahoe area each year, so I would assume he's in various places throughout the year.

The following is an excerpt from the song "Today's Your Day" feat. Chali 2na, from Fatlip's recent album "The Loneliest Punk"...

"I woke up, opened my eyes up, rised up, wised up to the game, time to change the name. Edycrahp comin' with different shit, edycrahp, write it down niggaz see the reverse significance?"

If I'm not mistaken "Edycrahp" is also credited with the production on 1 or more "The Loneliest Punk" tracks, also.

see Labcabincalifornia. Enjoy.

I miss the days when rap acts tried to make something substantial.

The end.
