ok, my dad got this computer from work (for free) and its an older Compaq, dunno exact model number... its in the other room... but its plugged in and so on and so forth (mouse, keyboard, monitor) and when it starts (besides the annoying ass ring that comes with it starting up) it doesnt start. the screen's light goes green, then it goes to yellow... shake the mouse.. nothing... keyboard? no .. it doesnt work... all three lock keys blink, then the caps lock blinks on and off constantly, if i hit some button some shit pops up on the screen, but i cant pick anything... (it says TTL sync, and sync on green, its set on TTL sync and i cant change it).
so if someone can please tell me someting i can do to get this thing workin.. it would be awesome
thanks

Have a yard sell this weekend and unload it for about $1,000 after describing it as just "slighty used". (y)

the restart deal didnt work. i put the disc in the tray, then hit F11 (of course my keyboard still had the blinky caps lock on so i dont think the keyboards are working on it.
this really blows

make a DOS boot up floppy disk on this site here (http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm)
turn off your computer, put the disk in, turn it back on
that should start the computer in DOS, and you can manipulate your way in there. then you should be able to put in the windows CD and run it through the command screen and clean that sucker out
