How long does it take to heal or whatever?

4-6 weeks in a sling. 3 months without contact sport

have fun, i did this almost two years ago to this day, and the thing still isn't healed right....ache's sometimes, is still weak...pokes out and the tendons crack pop and click when I move.

Do your physical therapy after you are out of your sling because your shoulder will have wasted away a bit and you'll end up weak on that side...I am very weak on that side now and regret not doing what I was told.

on another note ... Percocets or Oxycontin?

i dunno bout those oxin things, but i'll do whatever physio neccessary. i don't think i ripped any tendens or anything, it was quite a simple, clean break.

I feel your pain there Planetary. I broke mine about 5 years ago playing hockey. Cheap shot

Breaking both bones in my wrist wasn't half as bad. At least I could get a decent nights sleep...I had to sleep on my back for like 2 months.

I broke a collarbone racing BMX on one of the asphalt berm sections of the track when I was 15 - so I know the fucking feeling.

I had to get 6 stitches above my eye on my 16th birthday.....
Things can always be worse.

I broke my collar bone falling off of my mother's bed. Taking baths wearing a plastic bag over my chest was no fun.

still, the way i see it, gotta make the best of a bad situation. no point getting down

I'm sorry to hear this! Those 4-6 weeks will fly by and maybe you'll meet people that you wouldn't have met or talked to otherwise in that time. That happened to me when I was on crutches. The crutches part sucked but the people part was kind of cool.

that sucks man. Hope it gets better. I broke mine by jumping from the top bunk in a sleeping bag and caught my colar bone right on the corner of my dresser. I was 6 and watched a paratrooper movie and got that idea.
