he is so horribly terrible, it's just lazy lazy racial humor. dave chapelle does racial humor well, like the blind, black KKK member sketch. that was good. most carlos mencia jokes/sketches go something like this:

my brother saw "carlos" a couple years back when he was just breaking out. and he loved his show. apparently the atmosphere at one of his shows is piss-yourself-hilarious, but i just didn't see it. he had me listen to a live cd of him and i maybe chuckled twice. and i'm mexican.

That's why it confuses me. I'm from Latin American, but I speak Portuguese, not Spanish, so tecnically I'm not hispanic, but explain that to Americans and they'll say "anyody who comes from Latin America is hispanic and that's it, does it matter???" Hahaha.:p

Hispanics is just a PC term white people came up with to group all Spanish speaking people into one group because they are too lazy or ignorant to recognize that places like Mexico, The Dominican Republic, and Venezuela are all actually different places with different cultures. Latinos is pretty much the same cept it is slightly less broad.

As far as this Mencina clown goes, I caught his show once or twice when I was in the states and found it to be quite generic and lame. Sadly most "Hispanic" comedians are following the example set by black performers long ago and only limiting them selves to a certain type of humor i.e. "White people are so lame..." Unfortunately this style does appeal to the masses and as long as it's profitable we'll continue to see more of the same
