Who has the best mic skills in your opinion? And why does this thread not exist yet???
It has...........about 10,000 times.
I'd say Talib Kweli/Big L/Rakim/Watkin Tudor Jones.
Take your pick.

Hmm, I was really asking myself about nothing but the technical skills. I love Chali 2na, Talib and Mos Def, but I think noone is as fast as Busta Rhymes....

I was waiting for someone to say that:( but it's your opinion, as I have my own and could explain it (which I do all the time on here) in-depth.
2 Pac had a lot of interesting things to say, and he was an excellent poet, but I wouldn't call him the best rapper ever.
I agree with the concensus on Rakim. also, Run DMC in their heyday, but not after 1987 or so.

who is the BEST rapper? like technically the best?
Jay Z.
to be perfectly honest, I don't think tupac would ever be anywhere on my list. best hip hop SONGS, or ALBUMS? yes. but not the flat-out best RAPPER.
and even though I like him alot... Big L? the best ever? no way.

Big L had only two Lps, thus you have nothing to compare him to in terms of overal growth and so forth. Jay-Z is a good pick. I think alot of us have diffrent definitions of "rapper" and what makes one the best.

HAHAHAHAHA I do not remember that':) he has a mile sitting in his drawers so unorginal ;)
Right now I am currently wearing a pac shirt (figures right) at work and one of my co-workers (45+ female white) came up to me and asked if I have seen the documnetry on Pac. Then started to discuss why she likes him, feels he is misunderstood and how he was still young. People seem to forget he was very young when he started to blow up. That made my day and showed me even more some the peope on here don't know shit about Pac or his impact. Much more then a rapper. Just thought I'd share that with y'all :)

lol. The fuck?
I like Nas better as a LYRICIST, but Jay does the rap thing better, in delivery, the way he composes, his songs as a whole, live presence, whatever.
Another sentimental favourite is Mos Def for 69% of black on both sides.
Lyrically, my favourites would be
Blueprint
3:16, 9th edition
Lost Tapes
Black on Both sides
Devil's Night

Jay Z, Nas, Ghostface, eminem (fuck what you think, before his beats became so lame, he's a very very good mc), redman, pharoahe Monch, Kool Keith (another mc that changed the game), Doom who i'm sure peeps will disagree with but i like his style and he makes me laugh, Pos and Dave, Murs has skills and tell a good tale in his i'm just a normal dude kind of way, i always loved run's flow back in the day, kweli and mos,and so on and so and so on

Jay-z
Slick Rick
Chester P/Farma G (Taskforce) are great MC's from the UK

Yeah Rakim was awesome, no doubt. Personally I'd be inclined to name him GOAT rapper if I was there for the whole thing, though. Jigga and Nas I been following from the start (of their appearances in my neck of the woods, anyways).

Fuck all this best rapper shit, what about best crapper? where's his parade? there should be an award and a parade for the person who can release the most chocolate hostages, and if it rains during his parade he can be all like "why does it always rain on my parade". You wanna know why you ignorant fucks dont give crappers their due respect? Because society makes patsies out them, every last one of them, crappers get blamed for everything, from 911 to bird flue, when deep down everyone knows its those Canadian bastards that orchestrated all that diabolical shit. Its just that the goverment has you monkeys so brainwashed that whenever shit happens the first thing you think of is crappers. Wake up and smell the cheese you pathetic fucks...
peace out...one love to all the battleship(the real battleship, not the Milton Bradley version) playin kids out there droppin bombs like Ted Kaczynski, treating ya moms like miss Lewinsky and then skating like T Lipinski (all the true hedz out there will be able to cite that reference and the way in which the group connects to the Beastie Boys)
