in all seriousness though, how is burying someone in the same league of creepiness as making jewelry out of somebody's corpse? I mean, with burial, you're just putting someone in the ground. you don't have the dead body just sitting around, you have a nice little stone monument to the person. I'd rather do that than carry around a dead loved one on my finger. how is that NOT creepy? It's like making a coat out of their skin or makning a lava lamp out of their plasma.

1.wearing something made out of a dead relative/spouse
2.cremating someone and keeping an urn with their ashes on your mantle


3.putting someone in the ground.

eh, i don't think it's THAT creepy. it's not "making a coat out of their flesh" creepy, at least the ring doesn't resemble anything disgustingly organic in any way, it's just a rock. that happens to be made out of a person. but a rock all the same.

i wouldn't go out of my way to get one, but i wouldn't recoil in disgust at the sight of one. it's not like you have the person stuffed and put in the corner of the room (or in your bed)

yeah, i was stretching it a more than a bit. i wouldn't barf if i saw one, or think that someone who got one was a monster, but i still think it's just a creepy idea to make something out of someone's remains, even if it makes a pretty diamond ring.

It just doesn't strike me as weird is all. You had this loveed person, you want to commemorate their life, so what's the big deal about having the remains after cremation compressed into something beautiful? Seems like a nice thing.
