I saw a couple episodes and kina got hooked on it.

I like it because it doesn't glorify the war at all and during alot of events, some bad shit happens which is so true.

I loved mostly how it focuses on the familys while their sons/ husbands are deployed over there. It really touches base on what happens back home.

I think that every stupid shit that wants to go to there "to kill some a-rabs" take a glimpse of what they will put their family through. If they have a relationship, they can kiss it goodbye because believe me, I don't know what it is, the majority of time while gone, it seems like the wives have plans on how to cheat while the husband is gone. I'd say at least 75 percent of my friends that are married in my old troop are currently going throught legal proceedings because of that. My contract buddies are having problems as well.

Has anybody else followed the series or seen a couple episodes? What did you think?

it's a series put out by fox..... need i say more:o

anyway it follows like 5 soldiers and shows you the events of what happens to them while being over in Ira(my cue key doesn't work).

One soldier has dreams of a career in football but gets his leg blown off by an IED and gets sent home.

another is in a marriage which involves a stepson in which he loves very much but while he's over there, the mother starts going crazy, getting wasted and cheats. Really causing a big mess.

There's a couple other moments with the other soldiers. It's a pretty nice series and as I said, it's pretty much down to the nitty.

I don't know what it means to say it's on Fox; about all I know of Fox is The Simspons, Married with Children, Futurama...

-- but it sounds interesting. I'll have to check it out.

It's on FX right? Or it was at least...

looked interesting. But what about the men as far as infidelity goes?

i don't know how many opportunities there are for cheating in iraq. the women seem a little...unapproachable. if i were over there, i'd be too afraid of getting my dick cut off (by the authorities, not the woman) to try to be a horny sexist pig. i am not over there, however, so all i know is what i see on tv. which i don't trust, but that doesn't stop me from forming temporary opinions and posting about them, damnit

Yes, I realize the opportunity for men in the military to cheat is slimmer than their housewives who are sitting home eating bon-bons, but there are women in the military as well for the hook-ups.

oh right, them. i dunno.

sex with the locals was pretty common in most wars, as far as i can tell. like in WWII, for the americans the british had the saying "oversexed, overpaid, and over here" because we kept impregnating all of their women. iraq though, seems a little...different. from here, anyway.

I don't know. My buddies were always getting phone numbers slylie passed to them by arabic women but not much has come about it because the local men seemed to come out of nowhere and sucessfully cockblocked.

It's ok for the local men to have sex/ marry an american woman but god forbid an american man being with one of their women.

But hey, we're something new to them so they did have interest of us. Like I say, my wife was with me during the time so I really cant tell you stories about it cause I just don't know enough.

I have this on my computer, I have watched 3 episodes and I am gonna watch some more this weekend at work. Even though it does not glorify Iraq, it doesn't put me off going there. Good thing I am not in a relationship or anything. But in the end (troops eventually pulling out), I may not even get sent there, so I am not too worried.

It is a very good show though, and I'd recommend it.

I'll just say this. Ira has a very different and beautiful culture. I really wish the war wasn't going on because it'd be a nice tourist event for people to witness.

Let me add this. You will never understand how important a shower is untill you get there. You will never know that a shower is like a congressional medal of honor. The sand. It's all I have to say. The most rewarding thing to you will be a nice warm shower.

Is killing people fun? Fuck no. Go ahead, think its cool, you probably haven't but if you do, good luck sleeping. You'll be kept awake with, "how man kids did he have," "why did I do this?" and of course you'll just think you did it because he had a gun so you had to but, you didn't think of it like this. If some foreign invader comes to your country to kill.....

Kids, I love kids but they are the hardest part of it. I hope, really, I don't, but fuck it. I'm not saying more. If you go, then God Bless you.

Who here wouldn't become an insurgent if the situation is vice versa on our part? This shit's rough man. Rough.

Much respect to you Eric.

umm, thanks man. I could appreciate that. What is the respect for? Oh well.

I'm glad you didn't say "god bless you" because I have no religion except for the fact of we were all created as one. God just displays himself differently for every culture to understand.

The respect is because you are real. Your point of view, your candor, they are all real. Not to mention you do a fair job of maggotizing some shit.

Gotcha. I will try to maggotize some shit but, if it's real, I'll fetusize some shit.

Seriously though, war is hell. Was it Eisenhahowr(sp) that said that? He aint lying.
