I wish i could remember movie names.

there was this movie me and my dad always use to watch, but i forget the name.. all i remember is this:

. People go on a plane for a trip..
. Something bad happens along the way..
. One man on the plane wont stop ripping paper up in aniexty..
. The alien things are like round dirt balls..
. They all get to land, but no ones around.. and they run into the air port.. and all the phones don't work.

I THINK in the movie the alien things start attacking the land, and when they do they create holes in the ground.

i forget the rest, anyone remember?
its in my mind, i know it. i just cant figure it out.
i think it starts with a L..

Anyway, I really couldn't watch the movie anymore after I saw the fuzzy things. Computer graphics were just not meant to make any kind of monsters at that point in time.
