today in Los Angeles there is a march for immragrants and today my dad was telling me about this law that is going to congress to be passed that pretty much works like this: if u help out an immrgrant like give them food or water or a place to live or sumthing u can be charged as a criminal. and immgrants are pretty much going to be treated like criminals if this law passes. and if it passes it opens doors to other ridiculous laws like if a resident has children born here they are automaticaly U.S Citizens they're citizenship can be taken away!so me and my brother wud have our citizenship taken away from us!!(!)

wtf!! this makes me mad cuz pretty much immagrants do the jobs that we are to fuckin lazy to do.

wud u go out in 90 or 100 degree weather and pick fruits and do back-breaking work for 6 or 7 bucks?! or wash dishes adn clean bathrooms and do all those hard jobs for minium wage?!

its messed up shit!!

People shouldn't get so mad at the immigrants themselves who simply want to work, survive and put food on the table for their families. It's the blame of the fucking employers (Wmart sub contracters on construction sites for example) who pay these people fuckin' pennies "under the table" just to get hard labor completed on time.

part of the issue is these immigrants do not pay taxes that go back into the economy to cover everything from health care to maintenance of roads/highways, etc. there's too many people in california and a large percentage of them are not paying into the system and it's draining the state

then what about making stronger laws about not paing taxes?
and how can they just take away citizenships?

the problem is that since these people are 'illegal', there's no documentation of them to make them pay taxes... in order to get the documentation, they'd have to be 'legal' which is a whole system in itself and they choose to be illegal to avoid the system of becoming legal... it's a vicious cycle...

Illegal immigration is a bad thing.

wud u go out in 90 or 100 degree weather and pick fruits and do back-breaking work for 6 or 7 bucks?! or wash dishes adn clean bathrooms and do all those hard jobs for minium wage?! so those jobs didn't exist before illegal mexican immigrants? Illegal immigrants, like, invented them?

and the "6 or 7" bucks thing is the real issue.
no, many people would NOT want to do such work for 6 or 7 bucks. but the reason that the pay is so low is because illegal immigrants drove the wage down so low.

i guess i just don't understand why there are 2 sides to this arguement.

it seems rather cut and dry to me.

one side you have the view that illegal immigration:
-drive down wages
-take jobs from american citizens
-drain money from the economy by sending wages out of the country
-are "inconsistent" in their tax payments in the least
-allow for known criminals to walk into this country
-drives up health care costs
-decreases national unity
-provides a splendid backdoor for potential terrorists to get into this country.

on the otherside you have the view that illegal immigration:
-is nice and charitable, damn the consequences.
-the immigrants only take jobs we won't. so apparenlty construction, housecleaning, and fruit picking didn't exist prior to mexican immigration. they, like, invented it.
-come on, america is fuckin rich and loaded with oppurtunity...give us some. we want it. give it to us. stop hogging.
-you ain't gonna stop us anyway. just give up. i'll mow your lawn for $5.

where's the debate?

I don't get the US...

right. that's the issue. they cross the border illegally through tunnels, crossing rivers, etc. and work at the low wages. they are draining the resources of the state(s) because they can receive medical care within a system that they don't contribute back into because they are paid "under the table". their employers do not pay into the system and they, as workers do not pay into the system.
