Im looking for a good set of headphones for my mp3 player. Im not sure if I want to get a good set of the big bulky ones or if I want to stick to earbuds. i want the best sound, but i like being able to stick it in my pants pocket. ooh if they come in a retractable case even better.

any audiophiles with good suggestions?

well there is a huge different in sound..bose is definitely quality. i mean they have one model that's specialized for professional pilots. how can you top that. i guess if they were making shit for nasa. not yet.

anyway i'm not an expert. all i know is bose is cool but expensive and if you don't got money you should probably go for some regular sony/philips earbuds or something.

For ear bud types I'd recommend these Sony ones, don't know the exact name/model, but they have these rubber earplugs as part of them which blocks out a lot of outside noise, and the bass response is pretty good.

holy fuck, i want those bose ones tpk. im afraid they'd end up in pieces like every pair i've ever owned. id love to have those for travelling. i did a little reading and according to audiophiles, these are the best earbuds...

Sony EX51LP (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?A=details&kw=SOMDREX51LP&is=REG&Q=&O=productlist&sku=292849)

I have the Sony ones and they sound great, but that connector box is really annoying as with just one piece of cable it's too short and with both pieces and the connector it's far too long, and the connector just gets in the way.

Personally when I change headphones I'm going to get some Shure E2c - http://www.shurestore.com/earphones/eseries_e2c.html
