to celebrate greek independance day (25th of march) there is an annual greek festival in the cbd in lonsdale st (the greek precinct) however because of the connonwealth games the festival was delayed a week, so it will be on the 1st and 2nd of april. so if anyone is interested come along coz its alotta fun(y) there is plenty of food and refreshments, rides and of course dancing including the infamous zorba til you drop competition!

I might drop in at Stalactites on Lonsdale if I'm around. Last year TPK ate there after a Beastie Boys concert and ended up getting a photo of himself up on the wall for breaking the record of 'most lamb souvlakis eaten in one sitting'. I think he ate 7 or 8 in an hour or so. It's worth checking out while you're there...

From memory he had a lot of some kind of sweet chilli/yoghurt-garlic sauce mix. Eight probably doesn't sound like much, but their souvlakis are pretty big. I'd be surprised if anyone's beaten his record to date.

Don't think I know the place...I don't really spend much of my time in Melbourne. I'll keep that Medallion place in mind though next time I'm around.

SORRY everyone, there has been a miscommunication, the greek fest has been further delayed, not sure why though?
but yeah instead it will be in may when australia v greece in soccer.
i spose they think they'll get a bigger crowd, personally i think there being stupid bcoz they'll most likely cause a riot.but there you go its been moved to may ill give you the exact date wen im 100% sure of it. but still if ur in the cbd lonsdale st is a good place to check out(y) , close to all the big department stores and stuff.
