Overrated New York nonsense or just plain old fabulous?

I have to admit, I came into YYYs fairly late, after catching a rerun of the Jools Holland show when they performed, amongst others, Pin. The sight of Karen O jerking around the tiny stage was quite frankly, a little scary, but it was enough to get me interested to buy the album which I loved. So, since then I have been a fan even though every gig I seem to go to is full of Karen O wannabes, it doesn't detract from their music. I have heard a couple of tracks off Show your bones and they haven't disappointed so will be getting the it when I am paid this weekend and I have my tickets to see them at the Forum in May.

Viva les Yeah Yeah Yeahs!

I don't really know why I bought the new album since I think the first EP was pretty much the only thing of theirs I was ever actually blown away by. A few tracks off of Fever were good, though. Overall, I guess it was still better than Show Your Bones.

Gold Lion is predictably one of the better tracks off the album. I think Phenomena and Cheated Hearts are right up there with it, even though the former sounds like a QOTSA song at times and the latter sounds like something from the last Strokes album. Dudley's alright and Turn Into is decent too. I swear that Turn Into sounds just like some old Rod Stewart song that I can't place at the moment, though. I don't like how the album goes all acoustic towards the end, but none of the songs straight up suck or anything.

I think the production is kinda too clean and I probably won't listen to the whole thing from beginning to end ever again, but I guess it's worth buying if you're a fan.
