do you all have that one or two people that you can count on for anything? the person you roll over and call for whatever reason for whatever feeling... and even if they dont understand, they try really hard to help. or they yell at you and they tell you you're being stupid or crazy or mistaken.

i love and would do anything for the people that love me enough to be 165% honest with me. and i repay with the same considerations. there are few people that i wouldnt jump through hoops for, but there are fewer still that i feel their pain when they have it and i dont know what i wouldnt do to help in any way i was capable of.

i love my best friends.

---

boyfriends/girlfriends dont count. we know theyre fantastic but theres also sex involved. ehh... my boyfriend is definately my best friend. but i also have a bunch of other best friends that i find so much sexier. hahaha.

I am this one guy's "best friend" but I don't consider him to be the same. Pretty sure that he thinks more of our friendship than I do because he said that when he's old and decrepit, he imagines that I'd be the person who will take care of him and I remember doing a mental

I have two friends (male & female--they're married) and two unrelated friends--any of them would do anything to help me and I'd help them at all costs and without hesitation. I've known each of them for at least 15 years.

I think the best Friends was that one where they sat around and had coffee and the one girl did something silly and they shared some more.

aside from my boyfriend, there is one girl friend of mine that I can always rely on no matter what.

The only friend I have is synch, but I don't think he would do anything for me. Matter of fact, I don't even think he is really my friend.
Hanging out with you just hurts too much.

I have a low pain threshold.

I've never been comfortable with using the term 'best friend.' For me it's like this dirty word. It's probably because I tend to outgrow people and haven't had a close friendship that has lasted +5 years where I might actually feel comfortable throwing the term around. I have a bunch of close friends that I love and can rely on for different things, I'm very happy having it like that and can't imagine having the one best friend, to be honest.

Yes...my best friend and I have known each other for so long that I can honestly just say something like "So that one show...uh....with the thing" and she'll know EXACTLY what I'm talking about. It's crazy.

A friend of mine that I've known forever. She's amazing. She's going through it right now (her dad is dying) and she knows that I'm going through it (stuff with my kid that scares the living shit out of me).

She comes to my office and says something like, "We're both in the wars and I can't imagine what you're feeling with <your kid> and all. I feel it too. I was there when he was born. We'll get through it, you and me." Something like that. It took all of about 30 seconds for her to say it but man, it was like a lightning bolt. That's a friend. I love her.

Other than my family, no.

I have a buddy that I would consider my best friend, but he's a very selfish person.

When it really came down to it, and he knew he was my only option, yeah he'd help me out, but rarely will he do trivial things for someone unless it benefits himself as well.

Ah man, selfish sucks. People like that: you can be there so often to prop and a support and reassure and encourage and try to be a positive force, bail them out, but when you need it in return, they've run away so quickly that they've left little tracks of fire behind.

That's happened to me before. It was like this gestalt understanding: wow, but <x> is so self-absorbed, so selfish and it hit me like (lb).
