Fishscale wasnt bad but some of it is kinda corny like the rhymes on 9 milli bros for instance or that vocal sample on kilos. I like be easy, back like that and the champ though. And underwater is dope too. The rest of the album suffers from sub-par production, in my opinion.

King on the other hand has amazing production, real head nodders from Mannie fresh (2x) Just Blaze (2x) and then there's that rock-type song, and the neptunes+common track. Only duds are the swizz beats tracks, that dude fell off.

Anyway Fishscale is not as good as King.

I think clipse of doom or that extreme reverb-snare on kilos just don't cut it.

The T.I. album is banging, if you're into that southern 808/synth stuff. What you know is a good representation of the other stuff on the album.

He did the intro, which is banging, it samples the exorcist. He also did I'm talking to you which sounds pretty chaotic and a bit lo-fi but still pretty dope

TI's third verse on "I'm Talkin' to you" is fucking bananas.

but Blaze's beat on Fishscale's "The Champ" is better than anything on King.

i bought em both, i like em both.

Thats gotta be the worst beat I've heard in recent memory. His drum patterns are way too random for me. And there's too much going on. I think it sounds a bit fruity.

I agree with your first post the champ is my shit both lyrically and beat wise.

"My arts is crafty darts/While y'all stuck on laffy taffy/Wondering how did y'all ni99as get past me/I been doing this since before Nas dropped the nasty"

and

"Who wanna battle a don/I'm James Bond in the octagon"

I can't believe you knocked Kilo. Sinner.

T.I.'s album is a little tighter in terms of the full package. But there's no way he's even in the same hemisphere, stratosphere or mesosphere as Ghost lyrically/vocally. What You Know is nice, but Goodlife is corny and King Back is one of my least favorite Just Blaze tracks ever. I think Fishscale has a lot of filler, too, but it's still the overall better album. And while there's about 5 or 6 too many, the skits on Fishscale are better, as well.

lyrically "kilos" is amazing..but the hook almost ruins it.

You guys listened to way too much Charlie Brown, man. No disrespect, roosta.

Kilo has one of the most clever uses for a sample in years. I was blown away by it. And Ghost is probably the only rapper that could have gotten away with not making it corny, next to maybe Jay Z. It's classic.

yeah, i don't get the kilo's hate at all, it's dope

btw i have the track it samples if you want it

(oh, and a hip hop comp on the way for the weekend)

I posted a link to this (http://xxlmag.com/online/?p=739) in roosta's thread. Wasn't sure if anyone saw it, though.

roosta, you'd probably enjoy the sample for Charlie Brown. It's actually not a bad song.

yeah, kilo is tops.

like i said, I bought both these records but the ghostface disc has gotten the most play.

it's more satisfying, i think.

with TI, it seems like as production goes up, lyricism must come down.

he doesn't seem as consistent as Trap Muzik.

so yeah, Fishscale is great and I changed my mind- the skits rule.
