ok.... ive heard ALOT of his songs... since ive been workin on the johnny cash vs. beastie boys bootleg for the past few months (2 cds now) and recently i found folsom prison blues.... now... i heard it once... and threw it out cuz it wasn't 'remix material' but damn... now that i get down with it... its awesome. also i've been everywhere, long black veil, ring of fire are all awesome... HUNG MY HEAD is amazing (cover though :( ... he didnt write ring of fire though.. so i guess thats ok) and when the man comes around is really good. his new cd is comin out this year... dunno when.. i cant wait (y)(y)

alot of his Def Jam recordings were covers... and as far as Ring of Fire, it wasnt really a cover as much as it was a song written by June for John...
anything from Live at Folsom is good..."dirty eggsuckin dog" is one of my favorites, and Cash's version of Shel Silverstein's "Boy Named Sue" is a classic...

Indeed. When I first listened to that, I loved it instantly. It's like a short movie, in audio form. Good stuff.
