I just got a message come up saying that a program (didn't catch the name) was generating errors and needed to close down. The screen then went completely blue and message saying 'physical memory dump' amongst other things I didn't have time to read.
I don't know shit about computers - should I be worried? Its a laptop from my work, not my own and I shouldn't really use it for anything other than work stuff.
Can anyone help?

There should be a stop code somewhere in there like :
STOP : 0x0000007E, (0x0000000), blah blah blah
If there is one can you post it? It seems cryptic but those codes actually go a long way in identifying problems.

Maybe I wasn't clear - I am a computer MORON:o
It seems to be working ok now, where would I find the code you mentioned?

The blue screen with the physical memory dump shizz. No matter, it seems to have worked itself out..
It was probably the flux capaciter.

Yeah, basically when I saw that screen I crapped myself and pulled the plug! Restarted the computer and let it go through the disc check with no apparent problems.
Thanks for trying to help though:)

I'm thinking now that it was probably the faulty hyperdrive unit - bucket of water on standby but only as a last resort

Good good. The goal here is to get smoke to billow out from the tower. This means that the steam-driven hyperdrive unit is working at full capacity as it should. Let me know how that turns out :D

OMG I've lost the tower - things are going downhill fast, and those imperial fighters are closing in.

I think your defragylyzer is hitting the cache XP tallywhacker,
follow these actions ver batim
OK,
right click,
choose Encoding,
double click format,
drag and drop to medium,
click OK to virus check,
go to tools,
manage add ons,
quadruple click cookie monster management,
type MP3 into word format,
re-format hard disc,
now wait for add on manager to cycle,
hit WMP to get media,
change desktop background to major US city skyline,
re-start computer,
open control panel,
click on sounds speech and audio devices,
wait for prompt to accessability,
re-arrange plug ins (if it asks),
if not continue on to sound devices,
double check desktop screensaver to see if shortcut to MP3 converter is up,
if not just repeat these simple steps.

Got lost on step 3 so I just re-routed my zip drive through the memory cache, uploaded my IP address to the interweb and re-installed my floppy. Its all good now
