"The idea of this gospel is that humans have a divine spirit trapped within them that needed to escape their bodies and Jesus was just here temporarily and he also needed to escape and Judas provided him the way of doing it"
next on the list, the gospel of Jesus. all you need to destroy the catholic church is patience...

"In fact, Jesus entrusted Judas with a secret he did not reveal to any of his other disciples: That this world was not created by the one true God, but by a lesser, evil divinity as a place to entrap divine spirits."
whoa, we're getting into Scientology shit now...

This sort of thing is all the rage nowadays, I like the recent publication where Jesus was floating out on a piece of ice instead of walking on the Sea of Galilee.
Ice Ice Jesus.

...there's no doubt that Judas was among the most trusted of the disciples, since he was made treasurer. But the idea that he would give Jesus over to be killed -- as an act of friendship, discipleship, or whatever -- but then go on to hang himself out of remorse is pretty silly. Or that he would accept pay for the betrayal, then try to give it back.
The most interesting and plauisble of the apocraphal works is the book of Manassah. It's got this really cool prayer in it that's almost stinging, plus none of it is contradictory in fact or spirit of the canon. But that doesn't make it canon. :)

according to a recent scientific publication put out by the graffititus group, the last supper was actually not eaten from just one side of the table.
Dude, you know what would be bitchin', if someone would do some research on whether Jesus used the words bitchin' or dude.

I went to Lutheran school and we weren't taught to villify Judas at all really. He was just a device so that God could send his only begotton Son to die for our sins.

Well, when you were once manipulated pretty badly by one, you'll develop a stinging hatred for religion. The negative outweighs the positive greatly.
ive been away from the board for a while but last time i checked you were all about religion.
when did this revelation happen?

AZ brings up a valid point, however I don't think its that silly to argue that, like Norcen said, Judas killed himself to be with jesus.
I've noticed that a lot of church-leaders in my country are trying to downplay the importance of this gospel. My question is, why should we take this gospel any less serious than the other gospels? There's always two sides to a story, apparently this is judas's. I'm anxious to see what the church is going to come up with to minimize the credibility of this gospel.

I think it's all pretty interesting stuff. I don't particularly 'believe' any of it, but I wouldn't say "it's all shit" either. It's imprtant to look at of this stuff in its context, and I would say that none of these documents are The Truth, but that all of them when balanced against eachother reveal something like it.

Judas was framed....just like Eve.
"Framing" seems to be a popular theme in christian biblical history.
the christian god seems to really get off on using humans like puppets to carry out his schemes....and isn't too concerned with thier feelings...
